INTERNATIONAL NEWS

1. PM Modi will be on a three day visit to Indonesia from today to attend the 17th G20 Summit in Bali.

During the Summit, G20 Leaders will deliberate extensively upon key issues of global concern under the Summit theme of ‘Recover Together, Recover Stronger’. Three working sessions will be held as part of the G20 Summit Agenda. These are food and energy security, health, and digital transformation.

2. India will formally assume the G20 Presidency from 1st December this year. India will host the next G20 summit in September next year.

During the G20 Presidency, India-Indonesia-Brazil would be the troika. This would be the first time in G20 that the troika would consist of three developing countries and emerging economies in a row. The G20 Summit programme also includes a Leaders’ visit to a mangrove forest in Bali on the 16th of this month.

3. India and ASEAN share common vision in ensuring peace, prosperity & stability in region says Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar while addressing the 19th ASEAN-India Summit in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

4. External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar met United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on the sidelines of the 19th ASEAN Summit, at Phnom Penh in Cambodia.

5. NASA Satellite Image Shows World’s Largest Iceberg Heading To Its Doom. It was slowly drifting along the Antarctica for more than a year, but its melting has accelerated now and the iceberg is heading for its demise.

1. Istanbul explosion killed at least six people and injured at least 81 others in Istanbul on Sunday. It has been deemed a terrorist attack, Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay said.

2. The UN COP27 summit on the frontlines of the converging climate, food, energy, health and debt crises. The 2022 United Nations Climate Change Conference or Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC, more commonly referred to as COP27, is the 27th United Nations Climate Change conference and is being held from 6 November until 18 November 2022 in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.

3. Adaptation and agriculture thematic day at COP27 in Egypt focused on how the world will feed eight billion people.

4. US aviation authorities confirmed that six people are feared dead after two World War II-era airplanes collided and crashed during an airshow in Dallas.

5. US Air Force Research Laboratory chose Colorado-based Advanced Space to build a spacecraft that will observe, detect and track objects around the moon.

6. The U.S. will send $400 million more military aid to Ukraine.
