The world’s largest Cricket Stadium, Sardar Patel Cricket Stadium is all set to make history by hosting the first day-night pink ball test match between India and England from today.
President Ram Nath Kovind will inaugurate this newly built Sardar Patel Cricket Stadium today.
President is also expected to watch the third cricket test match between India and England with the Union Home Minister Amit Shah for some time after the inauguration ceremony.It’s a day and night fixture and the match is scheduled to begin at 2.30 pm.
BCCI secretary Jay Shah and Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Kiren Rijiju visited the Motera Stadium, on the eve of the Pink-ball test between India and England and they took a look at the beautiful Hall of Fame zone.
The glimpse of every Indian cricketing legend is set to capture the hearts of cricket fans, as soon as they enter the stadium in the ”Hall of Fame” zone. Situated on the ground floor, every major cricket memory features here, be it the T20 World Cup win in 2007 or the 50-over World Cup win in 2011. The memory of the first-ever day-night Test of India that was played in 2019 is also captured here.
Sardar Patel Motera Stadium will become the top and the largest cricket stadium in the world. Located in Sabarmati, Ahmedabad, the Motera Stadium is equipped with new decorations and the latest facilities for the third Test match.
The stadium is spread over 63 acres, with a seating capacity of one lakh ten thousand people.
Currently, Melbourne is the largest cricket stadium in the world. It can accommodate 90 thousand people simultaneously. The Motera Stadium houses 76 corporate boxes, olympic level swimming pool, indoor academy, four dressing rooms for athletes and food courts.
The match to be played under lights will certainly add to the excitement and challenge that the first two matches have created. The new mix of lights, changing conditions and the pink cricket balls will add new thrill to the game.
With the series levelled at 1-1 and the World Test Championship slot up for grabs, both the remaining matches are crucial and India would be hoping that their formula in Chennai will be equally useful under different conditions.
