Delhi Goa IndiGo

One of IndiGo’s flights from Delhi to Goa made an emergency landing in Mumbai on Tuesday when pilots discovered a technical fault in one of the plane’s engines. The Airbus A320 flight, which had more than 170 passengers, made a smooth landing at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport without any harm. Passengers and crew are said to be safe.

Technical Snag Prompts Urgent Diversion

As per sources close to the situation, the engine malfunction was noted soon after departure. As a precautionary measure, it was decided by the flight crew to make an emergency landing at Mumbai, the nearest airport with the capacity to handle the situation. Emergency response teams were put on standby, but they were not required as the landing went smoothly without any issues.

IndiGo Responds, Sends Replacement Aircraft

India’s low-cost carrier IndiGo, which is among the country’s largest, issued a statement affirming the diversion and reassuring passengers that safety is always paramount. Because of a technical snag, the captain decided to divert the flight to Mumbai. “Passengers were placed on another plane to proceed with their journey to Goa,” the carrier said.

DGCA Notified, Inquiry Underway

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has been informed and will start conducting a technical inspection of the aircraft. As for now, initial reports indicate that there is an engine problem, but the ultimate reason shall be determined after a proper inspection. The flight was flying in normal weather conditions and traffic conditions at the time.
