Delhi University Teachers Association ( DUTA) wrote to Arvind Kejriwal, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Delhi on Monday ( 22.2.2021) to request the immediate release of the 4th instalment of Grant-in-Aid to the 12 DU Colleges that are 100% funded by Delhi Government.

DUTA press release stated that, Most colleges have not been able to pay salaries of employees for the last three months or more. It further request that along with the 4th instalment, adequate Grants be released to cover the gap which has increased for over a year now.

DUTA demand an immediate end to the crisis in these colleges which has persisted for over a year and request the following immediate actions.

1) Grant-in-Aid towards pending salaries and pension be immediately released.

2) Release of adequate grants. The grants, sanctioned till date, are not adequate to even meet the basic requirements of payment of salaries and pension.

3) Release of grants so that colleges can pay other dues of employees including medical bills, arrears of the 7th CPC and vacation salary of adhoc teachers for 2019 (in DDU College).

4) Release of grants for infrastructure development and maintenance and for creating posts as required by the EWS Expansion and for courses approved and started over the last few years.

5) Release of Grant-in-Aid on a quarterly basis.

The good news is that, The University of Delhi has extended the existing term of nominees on the Governing Bodies of the 28 Delhi Government Colleges for a period of three months. All are hoping that this will help to resolve issues amicably.
