It was all humid, hot, sweating,
red, orange, and smelly in
the past week.
Each one of us bathed twice,
cursed the Global Warming thrice,
and looked pale and dehydrated
all afternoon.
During the productive hours
of the day, we cat walked
on the floor looking
for liquid meals and a door
that could block the summer
breeze.
But then, dark clouds appeared
from nowhere. And people began
dancing in front of the Idol of Lord
Indra. I heard the weather forecast
that evening on the radio and knew
those winds were from the Bay of Bengal
but who am I to break a tribal dance?
So, I joined and never returned home
afterward.
