Devshayani Ekadashi is considered to be one of most auspicious Ekadashis among others. 

Devshayani Ekadashi elaborates as – Dev means God and Shayani means sleeping that means God is sleeping. Devshayani Ekadashi name has been given to this Ekadashi because it is believed that on this day Lord Vishnu goes to sleep on Sheshnaag in the ksheersagar (the cosmic milk ocean), that is why it is called Hari Shayani Ekadashi.

 A KALPA is equal to 4.32 billion years, a “day of Brahma” or one thousand mahayugas, measuring the duration of the world. Each kalpa is divided into 14 manvantara periods, each lasting 71 Yuga Cycles (306,720,000 years).

A chatur-yuga lasts for 4.32 million solar (12,000 divine) years with 1,728,000 years of Krita-yuga, 1,296,000 years of Treta-yuga, 864,000 years of Dvapara-yuga, and 432,000 years of Kali-yuga.
