1. US President Donald Trump has warned that his Administration will impose an additional ten per cent tariff on countries aligning themselves with what he termed as anti-American policies of the BRICS. In a social media post, he said there will be no exceptions to this policy. Trump’s remarks came after the BRICS, a grouping of Brazil, China, South Africa and India condemned the increase in tariffs by the US.
2. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning has firmly stated that China-Pakistan relations are not directed at any third party, emphasising that the longstanding friendship and defence cooperation between China and Pakistan constitute normal bilateral interactions and are not aimed against any other nation.
3. France has publicly accused China and Pakistan of orchestrating a coordinated disinformation campaign targeting the reputation and international sales of its Rafale fighter jets, particularly following the India-Pakistan military conflict in May 2025 and India’s Operation Sindoor.
