3. The Indian Coast Guard seized 140 kg of sea cucumbers, worth ₹1.64 crore, in Tamil Nadu’s Mandapam on Thursday. Sea cucumbers are protected species under the Wild Life (Protection) Act

1. Steel Authority of India Limited, SAIL has crossed ten crore rupees in Procurement Value on Government-e-Marketplace (GeM). The Ministry of Steel said that SAIL became the first Central Public Sector Enterprise, CPSE to achieve the major milestone of procurement through the GeM since its inception.

2. European Central Bank (ECB) on Thursday raised interest rates it pays on bank deposits by 75 basis points (bps), taking it to the highest level since 2009 at 1.5%. It comes after the bank rose rates by 50 bps in July and 75 bps in September.

3. South Korea’s economic growth fell to its slowest in a year in the third quarter. The Bank of Korea estimated that the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) grew by a seasonally-adjusted 0.3% in real terms from the previous quarter.

4. Coca-Cola, global soft drinks company announced that its lemon and lime-flavored soft drink ‘Sprite’ has become a billion-dollar brand in the Indian market.
