1. PM Modi reached Ghana’s capital Accra yesterday evening on the first leg of his five-nation tour. During his visit to the West African Nation, the Prime Minister is set to receive Ghana’s highest state honour, the Companion of the Order of the Star at the state banquet.

Besides Ghana, the Prime Minister will also visit Trinidad and Tobago, Argentina, Brazil, and Namibia.

2. Sri Lanka Launches Hindi Course with Indian Collaboration: Strengthening India-Sri Lanka cultural and educational ties, General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) in Colombo has launched a Hindi Language Learning Programme in partnership with the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC), the cultural arm of the High Commission of India.

3. India has dispatched a team of geologists to Zambia to explore copper and cobalt deposits, two Indian government sources said, as New Delhi steps up efforts to secure critical mineral supplies essential to its energy transition.

1. The Pentagon has paused certain weapons deliveries to Ukraine, citing concerns about low US stockpiles.

2. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has signed into law a bill suspending cooperation with the United Nations’ nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). This is one of the most drastic steps Iran has made in its standoff with international powers on its nuclear activities.

3. In Pakistan: 4 killed, 11 injured in IED blast in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The explosion took place in the Bajaur district, where a vehicle carrying two senior government officials, including an Assistant Commissioner, was struck by an improvised explosive device. A faction named Usood-ul-Harb of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the attack.

4. Pakistani forces, including the Frontier Corps and police, launched a violent assault on peaceful protesters in Kech district of Balochistan.

5. In Bangladesh, Former Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda on Tuesday gave a confessional statement before a Dhaka court in a case filed over a fabricated election and sedition, admitting to conducting a mockery of an election.

6. The fourth International Conference on Financing for Development recently commenced in Seville, Spain. This event marks the growing debt crisis faced by developing nations. Since 2010, sovereign debt in these countries has surged , now accounting for 30% of the global total.

7. Pakistan took over the rotating presidency of the United Nations Security Council on 01 July 2025, marking the beginning of its one-month leadership role.
