1. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that the government is determined to dismantle every drug cartel and protect the youth. He congratulated the Narcotics Control Bureau and all agencies on busting a global drug cartel.

2. Labour and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has said, one lakh crore rupees will be provided to employees and employers over the next four years through the Employment Linked Incentive (ELI) scheme.

3. In a social media post, Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari today said that 66.91 kilometers long four lane greenfield Bandikui spur in Rajasthan has been successfully completed with a cost of over two thousand crore rupees.

4. The Government of India implemented a mandatory Facial Recognition System (FRS) for pregnant and lactating women to access take-home rations under the POSHAN Abhiyaan scheme.

5. Former Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla yesterday termed Northeast region as the gateway to East and Southeast Asia for India. Mr Shringla was addressing the panel discussion on Artificial intelligence and North East India in New Delhi.

6. Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil today inaugurated a Unified Inundation Forecasting System C-FLOOD in New Delhi. This is a web-based platform that provides two-days advance inundation forecasts up to village level.

7. The Union Minister of State for Coal and Mines, Shri Satish Chandra Dubey visited SECL on a two-day official visit to its operational areas on 30th June and 01st July 2025. The visit included several significant inaugurations and interactions aimed at strengthening coal production and promoting sustainability, safety, and inclusiveness in mining.

8. Government of India considering ₹100-crore proposal for an Integrated Aqua Park in J&K under PMMSY Phase-II : Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh, Union Minister for Fisheries and Animal Husbandry and Dairying said.

On June 30, 2025, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel launched the Jan Suraksha Santrupti Abhiyan in Gandhinagar, marking the start of a national campaign aimed at bringing unserved eligible citizens under the ambit of key government welfare schemes. The Jan Suraksha Santrupti Abhiyan is in the spotlight as it kicks off a three-month national campaign (July 1 – September 30, 2025) to ensure that no eligible citizen is left out of government welfare benefits.

*The initiative targets expanding coverage of social security programs like the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana, and Jan Dhan Yojana.

11. The annual 38-day-long pilgrimage to the holy cave of Shri Amarnath Ji will formally commence today from twin routes of Pahalgamand Baltal in Ganderbal district of Kashmir amid tight security. The Holy Cave is known for the ice stalagmite that forms within, resembling a Shivlinga and is situated at an altitude of 12,756 feet in the Himalayas in the Kashmir region.

12. Two-day national level conference on the theme “The strong role of urban local bodies in constitutional democracy and nation building”, will begin on Thursday at the international centre for automotive technology (ICAT) in Gurugram’s Manesar. Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla will inaugurate the conference on Thursday.

13. The Union Cabinet on Tuesday (July 1, 2025) approved the construction of four-lane Paramakudi – Ramanathapuram Section of NH-87 in Tamil Nadu at a cost of ₹1,853 crore.

14. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said active monsoon conditions are likely to continue over many parts of Northwest, Central and East India during next 6 to 7 days. Light to moderate rainfall is likely at most places over Northwest India during the next seven days accompanied with thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds speed.

15. Dr. BV Pattabhiram, a highly respected hypnotist, psychologist, and motivational speaker, passed away at the age of 75 in Hyderabad on July 1, 2025, following a cardiac arrest.

1. Tamil Nadu Police’s Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on Tuesday arrested Abubacker Siddique, the state’s most wanted terrorist, from a remote hideout in Andhra Pradesh after nearly three decades on the run.

Siddique (60), a native of Nagore, was apprehended along with Mohammed Ali (alias Yunus or Mansoor), another fugitive wanted in several terror-related cases.

2. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted searches at 16 locations in the Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation (VVMC) in Mumbai region Tuesday in connection with a money laundering probe into an illegal building construction case, suspecting a well-oiled syndicate operating behind it.

3. The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday ordered a CBI probe into the Valmiki ST Development Corporation scam, in a major setback for the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah-led Congress government.

The court directed the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to hand over all investigation records to the CBI, expanding the scope of the probe.

4. A controversy has erupted at Jaipur’s Maharani College after three Islamic shrines were discovered within the college premises, sparking allegations of an attempt to encroach on the institution’s land under pretext of Wafq Act.

5. An expert committee of the Union ministry of environment, forests and climate change (MoEFCC) has returned the Andhra Pradesh government’s proposal on the ambitious Polavaram-Banakacharla Link Project, which aimed at diverting surplus Godavari river water to Pennar basin through the Krishna river.

1. The State Bank of India has decided to classify the loan account of beleaguered telecom firm Reliance Communications as “fraud” and to report the name of its erstwhile director — Anil Ambani to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), according to a regulatory filing.

Reliance Communications in a regulatory filing said that it has received a letter dated June 23, 2025 from the State Bank of India (SBI) to this effect.

2. The Employment Linked Incentive (ELI) Scheme was approved by the Union Cabinet in 2025. It aims to boost job creation and enhance employability across various sectors. The scheme focuses particularly on the manufacturing sector. It was introduced as part of a broader initiative to support 4.1 crore youth with a budget of ₹2 lakh crore. The ELI Scheme is expected to create over 3.5 crore jobs in two years, with number of first-time employees benefiting.

3. All banks have been advised to prevent cyber frauds by employing the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) real-time, risk-based metric — Financial Fraud Risk Indicator (FRI) — which would help them in declining suspicious transactions, issuing alerts or warnings to customers, and delaying transactions flagged as high risk.

1. On 1 July 2025, the Indian Navy received INS Udaygiri, the second ship of Project 17A stealth frigates. This delivery signifies a major advancement in India’s naval capabilities. Udaygiri is built at Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited, Mumbai, and is part of a series of seven ships designed for modern naval warfare.

2. Operation CHHATRU:A joint operation by the J&K police, Army, and in Kishtwar’s Kuchal area led to an encounter with terrorists on Wednesday. The gunfight erupted after terrorists fired upon the security forces during a search operation in Kanzal Mandu. Reinforcements have been deployed to cordon off the area and neutralize the threat.

3. Indian Navy’s Russian-manufactured guided missile frigate INS Tamal that features an array of guns, surveillance systems and BrahMos supersonic missile was commissioned into the force at Russia’s coastal city of Kaliningrad.

4. The airport expansion at Dimapur airport is facing delay as the Assam Rifles has yet agree to immediately vacate 18.8 acres for starting work on Phase-I for construction of aerobridge, proposed parking bay for 14 aircrafts and helicopters from the present four. On the other hand, the CRPF has agreed to vacate 8.4 acres for Phase –I and shift to the plot at Chümoukedima.
