1. National 👨‍⚕Doctor’s Day 2025 is observed on July 1 to honour doctors and healthcare 1 across India. It recognizes their selfless service, dedication, and the crucial role they play in saving lives. The day was officially established in 1991 by the Government of India.

National Doctor’s Day is to honour the legacy of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, one of the most prominent figures in Indian medical history. He was born on July 1, Dr. Roy was not only a renowned physician, but also served as the Chief Minister of West Bengal.

2. The Union Cabinet has approved the establishment of the International Potato Centre’s South Asia Regional Centre at Agra, as a regional hub of the International Potato Center. Central Potato and Sweet Potato Research Centre (CSARC) – It will be established at Singna, Agra district, Uttar Pradesh.

3. Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, chairs a “Manthan Baithak” with Cooperation Ministers of all States and UTs to commemorate the ‘International Year of Cooperatives 2025’ in New Delhi.

4. Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs has launched the “Adi Karmyogi” programme, a nationwide initiative aimed at strengthening the execution of tribal welfare schemes by motivating and training field-level officials. Announced at the conclusion of the “Adi Anveshan” National Conference held at Vanijya Bhavan, New Delhi.

5. India’s postal system is set to undergo a digital revolution, with all post office counters across the nation adopting UPI-enabled QR code payments by August 2025.

BJP picks core netas to lead Telangana & Andhra Pradesh : Upset over the possible appointment of Ramchander Rao as BJP’s Telangana President, the party’s firebrand MLA Raja Singh on Monday wrote to Union Minister G Kishan Reddy saying that he is resigning from the primary membership of the saffron party.

7. Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), through its arm the National Sample Survey Office (NSO), launched the GoIStats mobile application. This innovative app offers on-the-go access to real-time official data, marking a major step toward data transparency, citizen empowerment, and digital inclusion.

8. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has introduced revised guidelines for the Biomass Programme under the National Bioenergy Programme. These changes are effective for the fiscal years 2021–22 to 2025–26. The amendments aim to enhance cleaner energy solutions and facilitate the adoption of biomass technologies across India.

9. The Tamil Nadu government has initiated the restoration of Kariyachalli Island, part of the Gulf of Mannar Marine National Park. This effort follows the successful restoration of Vaan Island and is part of the Tamil Nadu Sustainably Harnessing Ocean Resource (TNSHORE) initiative. Funded by the state government and the World Bank, the project has a budget of ₹50 crore.

10. Karnataka state government is taking steps to digitise property records and provide them in an e-Khata format. The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has already begun accepting applications for e-Khatas within its jurisdiction.

11. Offline registration for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra 2025 officially began today across multiple dedicated centres in Jammu. These arrangements are intended to facilitate devotees who were unable to register through the online system.

The annual pilgrimage to the revered Amarnath Cave Shrine is set to commence on 3 July 2025.

12. Tamil Nadu government has approved land acquisition rates for the second Chennai airport proposed at Parandur in Kancheepuram district.

The rates have been fixed from Rs 35 lakh to Rs 2.57 crore per acre based on the Guideline Value (GLV), sale value and private negotiations held at the district- and state-levels to arrive at a “fair” price.

13. June 30 marks the 170th anniversary of the Santhal rebellion, or ‘Hul’ – literally, revolution – one of the earliest tribal uprisings against the British.

1. 12 workers are confirmed dead, while over 34 have been seriously injured in a major fire mishap at a pharmaceutical factory in Pashamylaram industrial area in Sangareddy, Telangana, on Monday morning.

2. Char Dham Yatra was suspended on Sunday following a heavy rain alert, as per officials. The suspension of the Yatra was followed by a cloudburst, triggering a massive landslide near Barkot, killing two workers and leaving seven others missing.

1. The highly anticipated theatrical trailer for Tollywood star Pawan Kalyan’s historical action drama, Hari Hara Veera Mallu, is set to drop in multiple Indian languages on July 3.

Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1 – Sword vs Spirit is scheduled for release on July 24. The film also features young beauty Nidhhi Agerwal and Bollywood star Bobby Deol.

2. Kantara fame Sapthami Gowda is all set to make her Tollywood debut with Nithiin’s Thammudu which will release in theatres on 4 July 2025.

Sapthami Gowda made a name for herself with the Rishab Shetty film Kantara. Soon after the film became a roaring success, she signed Nithiin’s Telugu film Thammudu in 2022.

1. Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, who is aboard the International Space Station (ISS) has commenced research activities at the orbiting laboratory. Axiom Space said that Shux (Group Captain Shukla mission call sign) spent time in the Life Sciences Glovebox (LSG) working on the Myogenesis experiment.

2. The Indian Army is scheduled to begin user trials for the Zorawar light tank in July 2025. These trials will assess the tank’s performance across diverse conditions, including high-altitude areas.

3. The Indian Air Force (IAF) is in the process of conducting technical evaluation of mid-air refuellers that it has been seeking to procure since 2007 as a vital strategic asset. The IAF currently operates a fleet of six Ilyushin Il-78MKI tankers procured from Uzbekistan in 2003-04.

4. Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi is on a crucial four-day visit to Bhutan, reinforcing strong military ties amid China’s growing infrastructure in the Doklam plateau. He will meet King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Lt General Batoo Tshering.

5. Indian Navy’s ‘INS Tabar’ leads rescue operation after major fire breaks out in Oman-bound vessel
‘INS Tabar’ responds to distress call from Pulau-flagged ‘MT Yi Cheng 6’; rescue operations are on with the intensity of fire onboard reduced drastically.

6. Recently, India is developing the K-6 hypersonic Submarine-Launched Ballistic Missile (SLBM) to strengthen strategic deterrence and naval power. It is being developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation’s (DRDO) Advanced Naval Systems Laboratory in Hyderabad. The K-6 will be deployed on advanced S-5 class SSBNs (nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines) of the Indian Navy, larger than Arihant class.
