1. Indian authorities have decided to accord observer status to UN body ICAO’s expert in the ongoing probe into the fatal Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad on 12 June.

2. External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar engaged in a significant conversation with his Australian counterpart, Foreign Minister Penny Wong, ahead of the upcoming QUAD Foreign Ministers’ meeting scheduled for July 1, 2025, in Washington, DC.

3. Indra, a leading Spanish defence and aerospace company, has entered into a strategic agreement with Indian technology firm AXISCADES to jointly manufacture advanced aerospace and defence systems in India.The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was formally signed at the Paris Air Show in Le Bourget on 16 June 2025.

4. US President Donald Trump has publicly hinted at the imminent possibility of a “very big” trade deal between the United States and India, following the recent finalisation of a major agreement with China.

5. India’s position on the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT) remains resolute despite repeated appeals from Pakistan to lift the suspension imposed on the historic 1960 agreement. Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil has categorically dismissed Pakistan’s letters—four in total since 23 April 2025—as mere formalities that will not alter India’s stance.

6. India on Friday strongly rejected a ruling by the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague over two hydroelectric projects in Jammu and Kashmir, saying it has never recognised the so-called framework for dispute resolution with Pakistan.

2. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, in a conversation with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, firmly reiterated the United States’ stance that “Iran can never develop or acquire a nuclear weapon.” This message was conveyed amid heightened tensions in the Middle East.

3. Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has delivered a defiant message in his first public address since the ceasefire that ended the recent Iran-Israel conflict, threatening renewed attacks on American military bases and claiming a decisive victory over both Israel and the United States.
