1. The much-delayed Axiom-4 mission blasted off from the Kennedy Space Centre in Florida at 12:01 pm IST yesterday towards the ISS.
(a) India marked a momentous return to human spaceflight on Wednesday as Shubhanshu Shukla became the first Indian astronaut to reach the International Space Station (ISS), 41 years after Rakesh Sharma’s historic mission..
(b) Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla is journeying as pilot on the Axiom‑4 mission, making him the second Indian in space.
His message : “Namaskar, my dear countrymen!” We’ve reached space after 41 years. We’re orbiting Earth at roughly 7.5 km/s, and I have the Indian tricolour on my shoulder. TRicolour tells me I’m with you all. Shubhanshu Shukla from Dragon spacecraft; PM Modi congratulates crew.
The Axiom-4 mission, launched from Florida, aims to inspire innovation and rekindle national pride in space exploration.
(c) Indian Air Force Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla with three of his crewmates, veteran astronaut Peggy Whitson (US) as commander, Polish engineer Sławosz Uznański, Hungarian researcher Tibor Kapu set to launch Axiom-4 Mission into space aboard SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft, en route to the International Space Station (ISS), in Florida on Wednesday.
2. The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Sunday strongly condemned recent Israeli strikes on Iran, Syria and Lebanon, calling on the international community to take immediate action. The Istanbul Declaration, adopted after the 51st session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers, described these attacks as blatant violations of international law and national sovereignty. It also urged strict adherence to regional treaties, such as the Indus Waters Treaty between India and Pakistan, to prevent further destabilisation across South Asia and the Middle East.
3. India achieved milestone by securing a position among the top 100 countries in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Index. This ranking is part of the Sustainable Development Report, which evaluates the progress of nations in achieving the 17 SDGs established in 2015. India ranks 99th out of 193 countries, scoring 67 points.
4. India to Renegotiate Ganga Water Treaty: India to Renegotiate Ganga Water Treaty with Bangladesh: The Indian government has informed Bangladesh of its intention to renegotiate the Ganga Water Treaty, which is set to expire in 2026.
5. A total of three thousand 154 Indian nationals have been brought to India from Iran under the Operation Sindhu. A flight carrying 296 Indian and four Nepalese nationals arrived in New Delhi from Mashhad, Iran yesterday.

6. Israel confirmed that seven soldiers were killed during combat operations in southern Gaza after an explosive device struck their armoured vehicle.

A recent intelligence report, disclosed by two American media outlets, has cast doubt on the Trump administration’s claim that the recent American airstrikes had destroyed Iran’s nuclear programme.
