Celebrating Music & Humanity: ‘The Journey (S.D. Burman to R.D. Burman)’ Concert in Aid of Cancer Patients Aid Association

Celebrating Music Humanity 2

Mumbai, June, 2025 — In a heartfelt tribute to legendary music composer R.D. Burman on his birthday, celebrated artists Amit Kumar and Shailja Subramanian will take centre stage at ‘The Journey (From S.D. Burman to R.D. Burman)’, a special concert in aid of the Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA). The event will be held on June 28, 2025, at 7 PM at the Rang Sharda Auditorium, Bandra.

This musical evening promises to be a nostalgic celebration of timeless melodies, featuring an array of iconic songs by S.D. Burman and R.D. Burman. Proceeds from the concert will directly benefit underprivileged cancer patients supported by CPAA.

Amit Kumar, son of the legendary Kishore Kumar and a multifaceted artist in his own right, expressed his dedication to the cause: “I am always ready to support social causes, and I’m proud to be associated with CPAA. Music is a powerful medium to create awareness, and through this concert, we hope to bring hope and dignity to those battling cancer.”

Shailja Subramanian, known for her soulful voice and philanthropic spirit, add “It is an honour to perform for CPAA. Music is more than entertainment—it’s a means to give back, to heal, and to raise voices for those in need.”

The Cancer Patients Aid Association, a registered charitable organization, has been at the forefront of the fight against cancer for over 56 years. CPAA supports patients through a holistic approach—from diagnosis and treatment to rehabilitation—offering free drugs, nutrition support, prostheses, ambulance services, and more.

Ms. Anita Peter, Executive Director of CPAA, highlighted the urgent need for support: “The financial burden of cancer can devastate families, especially those from lower socio-economic backgrounds. This concert is not just a tribute to musical legends but a step towards ensuring patients can complete their treatment and reclaim their lives.”

Noted philanthropist and ardent music lover Ajit Kamath echoed the sentiment, stating: “Music heals. Health is wealth, and no one should lose both while fighting cancer. CPAA’s work in cancer care is vital, and concerts like this help us come together as a society to make a difference.”

Tickets for the event are available now, and all proceeds will contribute to CPAA’s ongoing efforts in cancer care and patient support.
Join us in this inspiring musical journey because every note played brings hope, and every ticket bought supports a life in need.
