Lakmé, the country’s number one cosmetics brand, brought its latest skincare inspired showcase in partnership with designers Pankaj and Nidhi in full force on the runway on the fourth day of the ongoing Lakmé Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI. With the trend statement of the season – #ReadyForACloseUp, Lakmé focused on healthy, radiant skin as the foundation of beauty and wellness, bringing forth the rise of the ‘skinification of makeup’. The vibrancy of the Lakmé 9to5 Vitamin C+ Serum weaved its way through hues of sunshine oranges, ambers, yellows, horizon pinks, purples, dusky teals and greens, embodying the energy and life of the Sun. The stylized collection brought the designer duo’s unique handwriting of 3D geometry and construction to life and merged aesthetics with wellness in a never seen before manner.
The Lakmé 9to5 Vitamin C+ range is a line of revolutionary lightweight formulations that is designed to reduce dullness, promote skin health, and boost vibrancy. Enriched with the goodness of the richest known source of Vitamin C – Kakadu Plum, a powerhouse of antioxidants, it is a magic potion for nourished, radiant, and glowing skin. The aesthetics of the collection celebrate the spirit of the product as the Pankaj and Nidhi X Lakmé 9to5 Vitamin C+ collection brought alive the vibrancy of the high energy product line with eclectic pops of colours. The models walked out with an iridescent glow under the rising sun, embodying the spirit of Solaris.
The show witnessed signature Pankaj and Nidhi appliques make a comeback in new patterns, juxtaposing Japanese kimono graphics with Indian ornaments – luxurious and tactile in textures with slivers of shine filtering through with holographic embellishments. Each eclectic piece was designed for the spirited, vibrant woman on a quest for modern craftsmanship. Balanced with striking colour pops and modern takes on traditional elements like the kimono, the show truly married the functionality of skincare with contemporary fashion and beauty for the modern woman who values timelessness.
