Need for an Anti Superstition and Black Magic Act

We in India need an Anti-Superstition and Black Magic Act considering the recent events of the murder of two anti-supersition activists: Narendra Dhabolkar and Govind Pansare.

Living in the era of the computerized world, we still prefer to live and act in a bubble. If it is not an illusion then what to be afraid of number 13, black cats, ladder, and solar eclipse.

Though, when researched properfly, these superstitions have come from a specific origin.

Yet, that neither justifies their preposition nor their practices. Infact, believing and propagating these only hamper our promotion of scientific temper. As per the Article 51A(h) of the Constitution of India, we must develop the scientific temper, humanism, and the spirit of inquiry and reform. And superstitions go against this law.

Like the Soractres of Athens who himself was hanged for the very belief that we should not take anything heard or seen on its face value. We must question and keep questioning until we reach a valuable temporary answer. And then, also question that.

Any idea, thought, or practice that takes us away from reality must be discouraged into a growing country. Especially, public needs to be aware of the specific beliefs that start to corner a particular/ specific section of the community based on their color or race. It can turn into a venomous fight.

Like MaharashtraтАЩs, Maharashtra Prevention and Eradication of Human Sacrifice and other Inhuman, Evil and Aghori Practices and Black Magic Act, 2013, other states should also enforce similar acts to curb such malpractices. Black Magic exists. And there are also people who perform it to their selfish benefits. The Government must safeground the interests of the general public from such practitioners.

Infact, the best strategy to tackle superstition and black magic will be to enforce laws on it and initiate long drawn campaigns using mass media, social media and educational institutions.
