Following the Air India Express flight tragedy near Ahmedabad, a new report has made public the immense experience of the pilots who flew the plane. The two pilots had a combined total of more than 9,300 flying hours of experience — information that triggers further questions regarding what caused the accident.
Strong aviation background for crew
Sources within the investigation said that the captain had approximately 5,200 flying hours on his resume, and the co-pilot had flown for about 4,100 hours. Both were certified and qualified for commercial flight duties, and their training records were said to be in order.
In spite of such reservations, the plane crashed soon after departure, triggering immediate suspicion of technical failure, weather, or even human faults. Investigators are currently going through cockpit voice recorders and black box information to reconstruct the last minutes leading to the crash.
Probe goes on into potential technical glitch
While initial weather reports suggest conditions were not particularly hostile at the time of the flight, authorities have not ruled out mechanical issues. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has grounded similar aircraft for inspection as a precautionary step.
“The experience of the crew suggests that this wasn’t a simple case of inexperience. We’re now focusing on the aircraft’s technical condition,” an official involved in the investigation said.
No cause yet declared, but safety protocols reviewed
While the investigation goes on, aviation authorities have called for restraint and restraint from speculating too early. In the meantime, domestic airports’ safety protocols are being reviewed, particularly in areas with quick changes in weather or infrastructure constraints.
Families wait for answers
The accident left the families in shock, with some wondering how this could occur with an experienced crew and standard takeoff. “It’s unbelievable that something went wrong with such competent pilots on the plane,” one of the relatives of a passenger said.
Final verdicts are awaited only after complete examination of flight data recorders. Till then, the aviation world is on tenterhooks, and the nation grieves for yet another tragic loss in its skies.
