6. Assam Police on Friday arrested Popular Front of India’s (PFI) West Bengal unit president Dr Minarul Sheikh, police said. Since Thursday, 11 PFI functionaries have been arrested by the Assam Police. Nationwide raids were carried out against persons linked to the PFI on Thursday for allegedly supporting terror activities. Subsequently, central and state agencies arrested 106 PFI members

7. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday terminated the party membership of former legislator Balwant Singh Mankotia for alleged anti-party activities. The AAP accused Mankotia of influencing party workers to join rival political outfits. Mankotia was the President of the Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party before joining the AAP in April.

1. Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has said that foodgrain production of 149.92 million tonnes is estimated in Kharif Season 2022-23.

1. INDIAN ARMY SET TO FLOAT TENDER FOR CARBINES, BULLET PROOF VESTS: The development comes months after the defence ministry cleared indigenous defence purchases worth ₹28,732 crore.

The defence acquisition council (DAC) had in July accorded its acceptance of necessity for the military hardware to provide a boost to self-reliance in the defence manufacturing sector.

2. Indian Ministry of Defence (MoD) has signed a contract with defence company BrahMos Aerospace Pvt Ltd (BAPL) for additional dual-role surface-to-surface missiles.

BAPL is a joint venture between India and Russia, making a crucial contribution to augment the new surface-to-surface missiles (SSMs) generation.

3. Ministry of Civil Aviation says that a total of 1924 Private Security Agency (PSA) personnel will be deployed at 60 airports in place of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) posted at non-core duty posts.
