dcgi gives nod to india s first intranasal covid vaccine

1. India’s first inter nasal COVID-19 vaccine by Bharat Biotech gets DCGI approval for emergency use.

2. National Commission for Scheduled Castes, Vice-Chairman Arun Haldar directed bankers to meet the targets set by the Central Government in implementing programmes for the welfare of SCs. He reviewed the implementation of various central schemes with bankers and senior officials in Hyderabad.

3. Union Minister Amit Shah to inaugurate two day National Conference of State Cooperation Ministers on 8th September in New Delhi.

4. The govt of India has announced to change the name of Rajpath and Central Vista lawns into Kartavya Path. The decision is said to shed remnants of the British colony in India.

👉 Kartavya Path includes the entire avenue and area from the Netaji Statue to the Rashtrapati Bhavan. The route runs from Rashtrapati Bhavan on Raisina Hill through Vijay Chowk and India Gate to National Stadium in Delhi.

5. BIHAR : Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) leader Abhay Chautala confirmed that Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and his deputy Tejashwi Yadav will attend the party’s rally on September 25 in Haryana. NCP chief Sharad Pawar, Farooq Abdullah and Akhilesh Yadav have also been invited, Chautala said.

6. KARNATAKA : Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to inaugurate three-day by-invitation conference cum public EXPO called ‘Manthan’ in Bengaluru on 8th September. It aims at anchoring discussions across multiple issues and opportunities in the roads, transport and logistics sector.

7. KARNATAKA HIJAB BAN : Hearing petitions challenging the Karnataka High Court’s decision to uphold the restriction on wearing hijab in educational institutions, the Supreme Court on Monday said: “You may have a religious right to practise whatever you want. But can you take that right to a school which has a uniform?”

The senior counsel tried to draw parallels between a “chunni” (dupatta) and “hijab”, saying the former was already part of the uniform, but the court pointed out that the two couldn’t be compared.

11. MIZORAM: the 8th Mizoram State Legislative Assembly session began on 06 Sep. In a move to go paperless, National E-Vidhan Application, NeVA is introduced for the first time in this sitting.

Two bills, Mizoram Goods and Services Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2022 and Mizoram Land Revenue (Amendment) Bill, 2022 were tabled in the House.

1. Enforcement Directorate conducted raids in connection with Delhi Excise Policy case. Sources said the searches were conducted in Delhi- NCR as well as in Lucknow, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Hyderabad and other cities.

2. ASSAM : villagers from the minority community in Assam’s Goalpara district have demolished a madrassa which has been linked to al-Qaida

3. DELHI Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia is among the 15 accused named in the FIR filed by the CBI. The FIR was lodged for alleged violation of rules and procedural lapses in the new liquor policy.

4. MADHYA PRADESH : Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Ministry today relaxed the existing limit of 25 quintals for purchase of Moong and Urad under Price Support Scheme, PSS, during the summer season 2021-22 for farmers in Madhya Pradesh. It has been now increased to 40 quintals per farmer per day.

5. J&K : Two terrorists affiliated with proscribed Hizbul-Mujahideen terror outfit killed in encounter in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

6. Supreme Court has issued a notice to the Uttar Pradesh government over Ashish Mishra’s bail plea, in connection to the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case. Mishra is facing a murder case for the October 3, 2021 incident in which eight people including four farmers were killed in Lakhimpur Kheri.

7. WEST BENGAL : Mamata Banerjee in TROUBLE, the Calcutta High Court has now sought affidavits from six of her family members in connection with a case related to their properties and other assets. It may be noted that Arijit Majumder has filed a case in the Calcutta High Court regarding the increase in the property of six relatives of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

1. Number of demat accounts in India crosses 10 crore mark
till Aug 2022.

2. Ministry of Finance has released the 6th monthly installment of Post Devolution Revenue Deficit (PDRD) Grant of over 7,183 crore rupees to 14 States for the month of September.

These States are Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tripura, Uttarakhand and West Bengal. Of the total amount, nearly 1,132 crore rupees has been released to West Bengal, 1,197 crore rupees to Kerala , 879 crore rupees to Andhra Pradesh and 781 crore rupees to Himachal Pradesh.

3. The coal production from captive and commercial coal blocks increased by 58% in the last five months as compared to the same period of 2021-22. According to the Ministry of Coal, 43.93 million tonnes of coal was produced during April to August this fiscal.

4. India’s external debt grew by 8.2% to over 620 billion US dollar at the end of March this year.

Finance Ministry’s Department of Economic Affairs has released the 28th edition of the Status Report on India’s External Debt 2021-22. According to it, India’s external debt was over 573 billion dollar at the end of March, last year.

5. Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das has said that India is widely perceived to be the fastest-growing major economy in the world in this year.

6. Revenue Deficit Grant (RDG) of Rs. 7,183.42 crore released to 14 States

👉 Total RDG released to States so far in current financial year gone up to Rs. 43,100.50 crore

👉 States will get a total RDG of Rs. 86,201 crore in 2022-23

1. The release date of Kangana Ranaut-starrer ‘Tejas’ has been postponed, as per reports. “Tejas was to release in October. However…there’s still quite a bit of work pending [with VFX],” a source was quoted as saying. “The makers are looking at a release in either December 2022 or January 2023.

2. The first trailer for Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan Part 1 is out. The film reunites him with music composer AR Rahman and actor Aishwarya Rai.

Based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s historical epic, Ponniyin Selvan tells the story of the ‘greatest’ empire in India’s history, the Chola Empire.

1. Pakistani Rangers violated the ceasefire Tuesday morning as it targeted Border Security Force (BSF) troops in unprovoked firing along the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir.

2. Border Security Force (BSF) and Pakistan Rangers Tuesday held a flag meeting along the international border and agreed to respect the “existing norms”.

3. Madhu Nair, Chairman and Managing Director of Cochin Shipyard, revealed that the third carrier could be manufactured in just 8 years, lower than 13 years for INS Vikrant. The Indian Navy has been pushing for a third carrier, expected to be a 65,000-tonne warship, after the commissioning of India’s first indigenously-built aircraft carrier, INS Vikrant, of around 45,000 tons.

4. Taragiri, the third Stealth frigate under the Indian Navy’s Project 17A is all set to get launched at Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd (MDL) on September 11.
