6. *ANDHRA PRADESH* : Over 50 women working at a company in the Brandix Special Economic Zone in Andhra Pradesh’s Anakapalle district fell sick following suspected gas leakage. The employees, who complained of nausea, stomach ache, cough and suffocation, were admitted to the government hospital at Anakapalle.

7. *DELHI*: Police has told the High Court that it was not in favour of bars and restaurants serving liquor till 3 am. The Delhi Police and Excise Department were asked to constitute a consultative group to examine the issue.

8. *GUJARAT* ;: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday released its first list of 10 candidates for the upcoming Gujarat Assembly elections. The party said the candidates include members of tribal, backward and scheduled caste communities.

9. *J&K* Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, told Amarnath devotees to visit the shrine before August 5 due to predictions that weather would turn more inclement later. The yatra is scheduled to end on August 11.

10. *MAHARASHTRA* : Responding to Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray’s “traitor” remark, Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde on Tuesday said if he and his supporters had been traitors, they would not have received support from the state’s people.

11. The newly formed Maharashtra government led by CM Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis has set a new record by issuing 749 government resolutions in a month.

12. *MANIPUR* CM N Biren Singh said that the state will urge the Centre for early completion of India-Myanmar border fencing work after resolving the border dispute. Responding to queries raised by Congress MLA K Ranjit Singh in the Assembly, CM Biren said that the border fencing of 5.6 km from border pillar number 79 to 81 has been presently completed.

13. *WEST BENGAL* : PM Modi on Tuesday expressed anguish at the loss of lives after a van was electrocuted in West Bengal and announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased. At least 10 people died and 14 others were injured in West Bengal’s Cooch Behar district after a pickup van carrying passengers en route to neighbouring Jalpaiguri got electrocuted.

14. *NEW APPOINTMENT* : Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer Shweta Singh was appointed as a Director in Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) for the period of three years.

15. The World Bank has appointed Auguste Tano Kouamé as the Country Director for India, effective. He replaces Junaid Kamal Ahmad who recently completed a five-year term.

1. *MADHYA PRADESH* Police have arrested a man for allegedly supplying arms to Khalistanis. The accused, identified as 22-year-old Asan Singh, was arrested in Burhanpur and several country-made pistols were recovered from him.

2. *KARNATAKA*: Police on Tuesday arrested two more persons, 32-year-old Saddam and 42-year-old Harris, in connection with the BJP Yuva Morcha worker Praveen Nettaru’s murder case. Two others, Zakir and Shafiq, were arrested in connection with the case on 28 July. Praveen Nettaru was hacked to death by two bike-borne miscreants on July 26 in Bellare in Dakshina Kannada district.

1. CHINA OBJECTS TO INDIAN AIR ACTIVITIES NEAR LAC: China has lately been raising objections over major air activities carried out by India near the Line of Actual Control (LAC), particularly in the eastern sector, two government officials familiar with the matter.

Already the objections were discussed between local commanders of the two sides. one of the discussion points in the 16th round of military talks between India and China was to keep each other informed of any air activity that either side may plan.

This includes routine helicopter sorties for transportation of men and equipment for construction works as well as drone operations conducted within the Indian side of the LAC.

2. China said People’s Liberation Army Eastern Theater Command will conduct a series of military operations near Taiwan island starting from Tuesday night.

3. India exported military hardware worth Rs 42,499 crore since 2018-19, according to details provided by the government in Rajya Sabha on Monday.
