2. Chess, young Indian Grandmaster R Praggnanandhaa has won the Paracin Open ‘A’ chess tournament 2022 in Serbia.

3. Badminton, ace Indian shuttler PV Sindhu has clinched Women’s Single title of Singapore Open. The Two-time Olympic medalist defeated Wang Zhi Yi of China, 21-9, 11-21, 21-15 to claim her maiden title in Singapore Open and third title this year after registering wins in Korea Open and Swiss Open. 4. Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has announced a 322-member strong Indian squad for the Birmingham Commonwealth Games (CWG), beginning 28th of this month. The contingent includes 215 athletes and 107 officials and support staff.

The CWG Games are set to take place from 28 July to 8th August this year in the British city. In the 2018 CWG at the Australian city Gold Coast, India finished third behind Australia and England.

5. Former cricketer Harbhajan Singh has taken oath as a member of the Rajya Sabha from Punjab. He was nominated by AAP.

6. Two-time Olympic gold medallist and world record holder Ryan Crouser won his first shot put gold medal at World Athletics Championships in Oregon on Sunday as he led a US clean sweep with a championship record throw of 22.94 metres.

Defending champion Joe Kovacs threw 22.89 metres to clinch silver, while Josh Awotunde won bronze with a 22.29-metre throw.

7. England Test captain Ben Stokes has announced his retirement from ODI cricket, saying England’s match against South Africa on Tuesday will be his last ODI.
