11. *MAHARASHTRA* : The United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) National Goodwill Ambassador Ms Dia Mirza, and Environmental Activist Mr Afroz Shah were felicitated with the prestigious Mother Teresa Memorial Awards for Social Justice 2021. The award is given by the Governor of Maharashtra Hon. Bhagat Singh Koshyari at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai.

12. Supreme Court is scheduled to hear on July 20 a batch of pleas pertaining to the recent political crisis in Maharashtra that led to the fall of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in the state.

13. *TELANGANA* : K Chandrashekar Rao reached Bhadrachalam on Sunday to assess the flood situation in river Godavari. The chief minister left for flood affected districts by road along with ministers and senior officials.

14. TELANGANA , CM Chandrashekhar Rao announced allocation of 1,000 crore rupees to take up works for protection of Bhadrachalam town from Godavari floods on a permanent basis. The government will take up construction of residential colonies for people living in flood-prone areas.

15. *UTTAR PRADESH* : A large number of devotees participate in the Ganga Aarti on Dashashwamedha Ghat in Varanasi on the eve of the first Monday of the Shravan month.

16. *WEST BENGAL* : President Ram Nath Kovind accepts the resignation of West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar. Mr Kovind has appointed Manipur Governor La. Ganesan to discharge the functions of the Governor of West Bengal, in addition to his own duties: Rashtrapati Bhavan.

17. *NEW APPOINTMENT* : Rajendra Prasad has been appointed as the Managing Director of National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) after the government dismissed Satish Agnihotri over corruption allegations. He is working as Director of Project with NHSRCL since November 2017.

*CRIME REPORT*

A Violence erupted on Sunday near Kallakurichi Tamil Nadu as protesters, demanding justice for the death of a girl student, went on a rampage and set fire to vehicles.

According to report, a 17-year-old girl, studying Class 12 in a private residential school in Chinnasalem’s Kaniyamoor area, about 15 km from Kallakurichi, was found dead on July 13 on the hostel premises.

The girl, an inmate of a room on the third floor of the hostel was suspected to have ended her life by jumping to the ground from the top floor.

1. Telecom operator Bharti Airtel has allotted over 7.1 crore equity shares to internet major Google for Rs 734 a piece.

2. The government has approved the continuation of the Scheme for Rebate of State and Central Taxes and Levies (RoSCTL) with the same rates as announced by the Ministry of Textiles for exports of apparel/garments and made-ups until March 31, 2024 in an effort to increase exports and create jobs in the textile industry.
