1. Ninty-four-year-old Bhagwani Devi from Haryana has created history by winning a gold medal for India in the 100m sprint (24.74 seconds) at the World Masters Athletics Championship-2022 in Tampere, Finland.
2. India to take on England in the opening One Day International match of three-match series at Kennington Oval, London. The match will begin at 5.30 p.m. Indian time.
The Second ODI match will be played on 14th of July at Lords while the final match is scheduled on 17th of this month at Old Trafford in Manchester. Rohit Sharma-led Indian team has already won the 3-match T-20 series against England by 2-1.
3. The ICC voted England batter Jonny Bairstow the men’s Player of the Month for June 2022. In June, Bairstow helped England defeat New Zealand 3-0 in the three-match Test series. Meanwhile, South Africa’s Marizanne Kapp was voted ICC women’s Player of the Month. Kapp won ahead of fellow South African Shabnim Ismail and England batter Nat Sciver.
