1. India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has crossed 198 crore 31 lakh mark.

28. The Jalandhar City Police have busted an illegal immigration racket and seized 536 Indian passports. They have arrested four people who were running five unauthorised consultancies and cheated people with promises of sending them abroad.

29. *RAJASTHAN* : The fifth accused in the Udaipur’s tailor Kanhaiya Lal murder case was produced before the Special Court in Jaipur which remanded him to NIA custody till July 12. Mohd Mohsin was arrested by NIA for his alleged role in recce.

Kanhaiya Lal tailor was allegedly beheaded by the two main assailants at his shop in Dhanmandi area of Udaipur on the afternoon of June 28. Both the accused Riyaz and Gaus were arrested from Bhim in Rajsamand district by the state police on the same day.

30. Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday announced that the state Cabinet has decided to appoint the two sons of Kanhaiya Lal, who was beheaded in Udaipur last month, to state service.

1. Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal reviewed the progress of PM GatiShakti at a meeting in New Delhi. The meeting reviewed the status of the National Master Plan since its launch on 13th October last year and discussed plans for faster integration of data into the portal.

2. The Coal Ministry has said that the country’s coal production has increased by 32.57% to over 67 million tonnes in June this year as compared to June last year.

3. City Union Bank on Wednesday announced it is planning to raise up to ₹500 crore through the qualified institutional placement (QIP) route. The private lender added that it has called an annual general meeting (AGM) on August 18 to seek approval for the fund-raising proposal.

4. RBI on Wednesday announced various measures to enhance foreign exchange inflows amid the rupee losing about 6% against the US dollar so far this year. The measures include allowing overseas investors to buy short-term corporate debt and purchase more government securities under the fully accessible route. India’s forex reserves have fallen over $40 billion in the last nine months.
