Two day BJP Executive meeting will begin in Hyderabad today

1. The Monsoon Session of Parliament will begin on 18th of this month and will continue upto 12th of August.

2. Central Govt has approved a proposal of the Journalist Welfare Scheme Committee to provide financial relief to the families of 35 journalists who have lost their lives.

3. A petition was filed before CJI NV Ramana seeking withdrawal of adverse remarks made by a vacation bench of the Supreme Court against suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma.

4. The letter petition said that it be treated as a PIL and the adverse remarks made during a hearing be declared as “uncalled for”. It was filed by Delhi-based social activist Ajay Gautam.

5. *ASSAM* : Department of Posts has decided to extend the last date for document verification of Grameen Dak Sewaks shortlisted for various posts till 15th of this month due to flood situation in Assam.

6. Assam’s flood situation worsened on Friday as 14 more people lost their lives taking the toll to 173 while a population of 29.70 lakh in 30 districts were affected.

7. *BIHAR* : CM Nitish Kumar on Friday expressed grief after five people died due to lightning in three districts of the state. The CM further announced ex-gratia of ₹4 lakh for the family members of each of the deceased.

8. *DELHI* : The Enforcement Directorate has arrested two associates of arrested Delhi Minister Satyendar Jain in an alleged money laundering case, The duo, identified as Ankush Jain and Vaibhav Jain, are directors of a Delhi-based jewellery firm and they’ll be produced in a special ED court later.

9. *HARYANA*: Home Minister Anil Vij has said that Kanhaiya Lal’s killing shows a “Taliban mentality” and that it needs to be eradicated from India.

10. *J&K* : 5 terrorists arrested in Srinagar & Sopore, arms cache recovered.

11. *LADAKH* : Helicopter services now open for tourists and general public:. The services will cover Leh, Kargil, Padum, Lingshed, Dibling, Neyrak, Diskit, Turtuk, Srinagar and Jammu for the time being and will extend to other regions too.

12. *MAHARASHTRA* , the two-day Special Session of the State Legislative Assembly, which was scheduled for 2nd and 3rd of July, has now been postponed by a day and it will now be held on 3rd and 4th of July.

13. India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday predicted ‘moderate to heavy rainfall’ for Mumbai city and its suburbs and the possibility of ‘very heavy to extremely heavy’ showers at isolated places in the next 24 hours.

17. World famous Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath begins in Puri; President, Vice President and Prime Minister greet people on the occasion. Three chariots were ready with the deities riding their respective raths, devotees in large numbers were pulling Taladwaja- the Rath of Lord Balabhadra.

18. *PUNJAB* : Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) announces to support NDA’s Presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu.

19. Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann said households across the state will get 300 units of free electricity each month. All electricity bills prior to December 31, 2021 will be waived off,” Mann further said.

20. *RAJASTHAN* : Udaipur murder: 2 more arrested for conspiring the brutal beheading of a tailor in Udaipur and were produced in a local court on Friday.

The motorcycle used for escape by the killers of an Udaipur tailor had “2611” as its registration number, a possible reference to the Mumbai terror attacks in 2008 on November 26 and referred to as 26/11.

Riaz Akhtari and Ghouse Mohammad had fled after brutally hacking tailor Kanhaiya Lal to death in Udaipur on June 28.

Udaipur RTO Prabhu Lal Bamniya said the motorcycle was issued in the name of Riaz Akhtari and a fee of Rs 1,000 was paid for securing the number in March 2013..

21. *TAMIL NADU* CM MK Stalin launched 14 mobile forensic labs in Chennai to facilitate preliminary examination at the scene of the crime. The mobile vans have been custom-built at an estimated cost of ₹3.92 crore.

22. *TELANGANA* : Two-day BJP Executive meeting will begin in Hyderabad today. Party General Secretary Tarun Chugh informed the media that Party office bearers will be meeting while the Executive meeting will begin after PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and others are scheduled to reach Hyderabad.

23. *UTTAR PRADESH* CM Yogi Adityanath on Friday said that the death rate due to encephalitis has gone down by 95% and the disease will soon be eradicated from the state.

24. *WEST BENGAL* CM Mamata Banerjee has said that she could’ve considered Droupadi Murmu, the NDA’s Presidential candidate, as the consensus candidate had the BJP consulted her over the nomination. “If…BJP had informed us…that they were backing a tribal lady as the Presidential candidate, then we would’ve supported her,” she said. “Murmu is more likely to win the polls,” she added.

1. SS Rajamouli’s directorial ‘RRR’, starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan, has become the first Indian film to get nominated for Best Picture at Hollywood Critics Association (HCA) Awards. The film will be competing with Tom Cruise-starrer ‘Top Gun: Maverick’, ‘Elvis’ featuring Austin Butler, Robert Pattinson’s ‘The Batman’ and others.

2. Tamil actor Meena requests fans not to spread false information about husband Vidyasagar’s death. Her husband Vidyasagar died on Monday.

3. Television actress Surbhi Tiwari has filed an FIR against husband Delhi-based pilot and businessman Praveen Kumar Sinha, his mother and his sisters-in-law for domestic violence.

4. Actress Taapsee Pannu, while talking about featuring opposite Shah Rukh Khan in ‘Dunki’, said she feels happy to have bagged the role on the basis of merit. “Nobody picked up the phone for a recommendation. I got the film only because someone liked what I did,” Taapsee added. Helmed by Rajkumar Hirani, ‘Dunki’ is expected to release in December 2023.

1. Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully carried out the Maiden flight of the Autonomous Flying Wing Technology Demonstrator from the Aeronautical Test Range at Chitradurga in Karnataka.

India’s secretive unmanned combat aerial vehicle UCAV programme under which a technology demonstrator called stealth wing flying test bed (SWift) is being developed reached a milestone. The programme is linked to the development of India’s fifth-generation stealth fighter advanced medium combat aircraft or AMCA.

2. An encounter broke out between United Liberation Front of Asom cadres (ULFA) and security forces in Assam’s Tinsukia district earlier on Friday. ULFA cadre killed in encounter.
