1. Khelo India Youth Games conclude at Panchkula in Haryana. Hosts Haryana won the KIYG 2021 with 52 gold medals, followed by Maharashtra with 45 and Karnataka with 22.

2. Karnataka’s Aishwarya B broke the triple jump national record at 61st National Interstate Athletics Championships, with a jump of 14.14m in Chennai on Monday. The 24-year-old broke the 11-year-old record set by Mayookha Johny (14.11m) on her third attempt. Notably, she also jumped a distance of 6.73m in the women’s long jump on Sunday, making a new meet record.

3. The 44th Chess Olympiad is scheduled to be organised in July 2022. ‘Thambi’ is the official mascot of the Olympiad. In Tamil language, Thambi means little or younger brother.

The official logo, mascot and hashtag were unveiled by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu M K Stalin and President of AICF Dr. Sanjay Kapoor in Chennai.

4. England’s James Anderson has become the first fast bowler to take 650 Test wickets. The 39-year-old achieved the feat after dismissing Tom Latham in New Zealand’s second innings in the second Test. Anderson reached 650 wickets in his 171st Test match.

5. IPL media rights auction: Disney Star retains TV rights, Viacom18 bags digital rights for Indian subcontinent
IPL media rights auction: Disney Star and Viacom18 won the TV and digital rights for the Indian subcontinent for 2023-27 for a whopping sum of Rs 44,075 crore. The bidding for two more packages will continue on Tuesday in Mumbai.

6. Nations League: Defending champions France failed to qualify for the final four of the Nations League after going down 0-1 against Croatia on Monday.
France have now lost two and drawn as many in the competition. They are at the bottom of Group 1 with two points, five less than Croatia who prevailed thanks to Luka Modric’s early penalty.

7. Australia qualify for 5th consecutive FIFA World Cup after beating Peru on penalities in their intercontinental playoff
Australia will meet the defending champions France in their opening match of Group D of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar on November 22. This will be Australia’s fifth consecutive appearance in the global event.
