1. PM Modi will launch the national portal for credit-linked govt schemes- Jan Samarth Portal in New Delhi today (06 June). It is a one-stop digital portal linking Government credit schemes. The portal is also a first of its kind platform which directly connects beneficiaries to lenders.

2. Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnav on 05 Jun visited the Unified Control Command Centre (UCCC) at Mumbai Central. Divisional Railway Manager of Mumbai Central briefed the Railways Minister about the Capital Expenditure of the division, Operational Analytics like HDEN- Speed Analysis, and Project Analysis among others.

3. PM Modi addressed a programme on ‘Save Soil Movement’ in New Delhi on the occasion of World Environment Day yesterday. He said, India’s efforts to protect the environment have been multifaceted even though the country’s role in climate change is negligible. He said, India’s forest cover grew by over 20 thousand square km in the last eight years.

4. On World Environment Day, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu has urged people to reconnect with nature and make efforts to reverse the damage caused to it.

5. States and Union territories and Urban Local Bodies across the country will swing into campaign mode from Sunday to make the country free of single-use plastic. They will also contribute to improving the environment, under the overarching mandate of Clean and Green.

Rabindranath Tagore, Abdul Kalam may soon join Mahatma Gandhi on rupee banknote: The RBI and the Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India (SPMCIL), which is under the Finance Ministry, are learnt to have sent two separate sets of samples of Gandhi, Tagore and Kalam-watermarked notes to IIT-Delhi’s Dilip Shahani.

9. *BIHAR* : Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare and Chemicals and Fertilizers Mansukh Mandaviya inaugurated the National Food Laboratory of FSSAI at Raxaul in Bihar.

10. *DELHI* : The maximum temperature reached 47°C in Delhi’s Mungeshpur for the second consecutive day on Sunday amid a heatwave in the national capital, the India Meteorological Department said.

11. *KARNATAKA* : The 1.2 meter Trisonic wind tunnel at National Aerospace Laboratories ( NAL) in Bengaluru has completed its 55 years of glorious service to the nation.

Built between 1963 and 1967, the first blowdown test was conducted on May 29, 1967. It has achieved an important milestone of 55,000 blowdowns.

12. *RAJASTHAN* : A male tiger “Kumbha” (known as -T 34, 16 year old) has died in Ranthambore tiger reserve. Deputy Conservator of Forests Mahendra Sharma said that the forest personnel found the carcass of Kumbha in a drain near Salavat ghati.

13. *TAMIL NADU* : Seven girls, aged between 10 and 18, drowned at a check dam built across river Gadilam near Tamil Nadu’s Cuddalore on Sunday. According to police, the incident took place when the group entered the water to take a bath and were washed away by a strong undercurrent in the deep end of the dam. CM MK Stalin has expressed grief.

14. *UTTAR PRADESH* : President Ram Nath Kovind inaugurated Sant Kabir Academy and Research Centre at Sant Kabir Nagar in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday.

15. *UTTARAKHAND* :
15 people died and several others were injured after a bus carrying 28 pilgrims from Madhya Pradesh’s Panna district fell into a gorge in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand on Sunday.

16. PM Modi announced ₹2-lakh aid for the relatives of those killed and ₹50,000 for the injured persons. The bus was carrying 28 pilgrims from Madhya Pradesh’s Panna district.

17. Chardham and Hemkunt Sahib Yatra are going on in full swing. Over 15 lakh devotees have visited Chardham and Hemkunt Sahib in the state since the commencement of the yatra this year. More than 5-5 lakh pilgrims have worshiped in Badri-Kedar Dham so far.

Adani Enterprises Limited may raise Rs 12,000 crore loan for the Ganga Expressway from SBI. Adani has won contracts to build three groups of the Ganga Expressway project in a deal worth Rs 17,085 crore.

Including its second phase, Uttar Pradesh’s Ganga Expressway would become India’s longest expressway, 594 Km long.

1. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is all set to embark on a three-day visit to Vietnam from 8-10 June to hand over twelve high-speed guard boats constructed under India’s USD 100 million Defence Line of Credit.

During his visit, Rajnath Singh will also hold bilateral talks with his Vietnamese counterpart Phan Van Giang to further strengthen defence cooperation between the two nations.
