zelensky launches crowdfunding platform to help win war

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

1. PM Modi returned to Delhi after concluding his successful visit to Germany, Denmark and France. It was the Prime Minister’s first visit abroad in 2022.

In Berlin, PM Modi held bilateral talks with Federal Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz and the two leaders co-chaired the sixth edition of the India-Germany Inter-Governmental Consultations.

2. Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah inaugurated three floating Border Outposts (BOP) on the Indo-Bangladesh border on 05 May to protect the inaccessible areas of the Sundarbans.

3. PM Modi will address the inaugural session of Jain International Trade Organisation’s- JITO Connect 2022 at 10.30 A.M. on 06 May through video conferencing.

Jain International Trade Organisation is a global organisation connecting Jains worldwide.

4. The 150-metre-long cross-border tunnel detected along the international border in J&K’s Samba district. It was dug by Pakistan-based terrorists in preparation for attacks meant to disrupt the Amarnath Yatra starting in June month, BSF officials said.

1. More than 3,000 people faced breathing problems and sought medical help after a dust storm hit Iraq’s capital Baghdad on Thursday.

2. NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg has said that bloc will strengthen its presence around Sweden’s borders and Baltic sea if the country applies to join NATO.

3. Japanese PM Fumio Kishida on Thursday said that the country would freeze the assets of 140 more Russian individuals over its invasion of Ukraine. He said that an export ban will be expanded to Russian military firms. Kishida said it’s time for the G7 to solidify its unity, adding that it must be shown that there’re consequences to Russia’s violence.

4. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has launched a global crowdfunding platform to help the country win its war with Russia. He said that all funds will be transferred to Ukraine’s national bank, adding that the government would give an update “every 24 hours” about how the money was being used.

5. The US has condemned the suicide attack that occurred inside the premises of the University of Karachi in Pakistan and killed four people.
