8. *RAJASTHAN* : Curfew was imposed and mobile internet services suspended in Jodhpur after communal tensions were reported following clashes at midnight, hours before Eid on Tuesday, over the issue of putting up Islamic flags on the Jalori gate circle, leading to stone pelting in which five policemen were injured.

Curfew was imposed in 10 police stations of Jodhpur city on Tuesday after communal tension broke out.

9. *UTTAR PRADESH* : Ten people, including two children and seven women, were killed after their autorickshaw collided head-on with a speeding jeep in UP’s Kasganj district on Tuesday. The jeep driver had allegedly fallen asleep while driving, leading to the crash, according to the investigation by police

10. *UTTARAKHAND* , the portals of the Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham have been opened for the devotees on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya.

11. In Uttarakhand, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath unveiled the statue of Brahmalin Mahant Avadyanath in the premises of Guru Gorakhnath Mahavidyalaya at Yamkeshwar, Pauri Garhwal on 03 May.

12. India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday said a low-pressure area is forming over the south Andaman Sea which is likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm around 6 May.

Meanwhile, due to wind discontinuity over peninsular India in lower tropospheric levels, scattered rainfall with thunderstorm/lightning/gusty winds is very likely over Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana during next 5 days.

DEFENCE:

1. The vessel ‘Kamla Devi’ was designed in line with the ‘Make in India’ program and developed in-house by GRSE as per requirements specified by ICG.

A fast patrol vessel (FPV) of the Indian Coast Guard (ICG), built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE), was launched at Titagarh in West Bengal.

2. The Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral R Hari Kumar will confer the gallantry and distinguished service awards to the naval personnel during the Naval Investiture Ceremony to be held today at the Naval Base in Kochi.

3. The US Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) has demonstrated a new low-cost, ship-killing smart bomb in the Gulf of Mexico.

A modified 2,000-pound GBU-31 Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) was launched from an F-15E Strike Eagle, destroying a full-scale surface vessel.

5. IAF chief Vivek Ram Chaudhari became the senior-most commander in the Indian armed forces after General Manoj Mukund Naravane retired as army chief on April 30.
