1. On the eve of Holi,
President Smt Droupadi Murmu has conveyed her greetings to citizens.

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar has also extended his greetings to the nation on the eve of this vibrant festival.

2. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has said that the Class 12 examinations scheduled to be held on Saturday, will be conducted as planned despite extended Holi celebrations across various parts of the country. The board, in a statement, said that the Class 12 examination for Hindi Core and Hindi Elective subjects will be held on the scheduled date.

3. In J&K: Yellow alert issued due to continuous rain, snowfall. Prevailing weather conditions are expected to continue until Sunday, March 16.

4. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday announced that all municipal corporations in the state will be transformed into solar cities as part of the state’s commitment to clean energy and sustainable urban growth.

5. Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu released the “Arunachal Pradesh State Biodiversity Strategy and Action: A Peoples’ Plan” in Itanagar on Thursday.

6. In Odisha, students can now pursue a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree immediately after completing Class 12, as per the guidelines set by the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Eligible students can enroll in the B.Ed. program through the Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP).

7. In Punjab, the festival of Hola Mohalla started with religious fervour and traditional gaiety at Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib in Anandpur Sahib, located in Ropar district. It will continue until March 15th. The celebrations were established by the tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh Ji, in the late 17th century as a way to showcase Sikh martial skills and promote community unity.

8. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was honoured yesterday with the “TIE Mumbai Hall of Fame” award by Infosys founder Narayana Murthy, in the Country’s leading entrepreneurial leadership summit, TIECON Mumbai 2025: “Dhanda First”, organized by TIECON in Mumbai.

9. Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has called content creators the digital ambassadors of the country. Addressing an event in New Delhi, Mr. Goyal underlined that responsible content, innovative storytelling, skill development, and the export of Indian creativity are the four major aspects of the creative industry.

10. The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board has declared the final result for the UP Police constable recruitment. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended his congratulations to the 60,244 youths selected for the post of constable.

11. In Uttar Pradesh, the Celebration of Holi has begun in the Braj region and Varanasi. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath attended the Holika Dahan Shobhayatra in Gorakhpur yesterday.

12. MK Stalin government in Tamil Nadu has replaced the rupee symbol for the Indian currency with Tamil alphabet ‘Ru’ in the state Budget logo.

While the move drew the ire of the opposition BJP, the ruling DMK said there was no rule that barred such a depiction.

1. The Economic Offences Wing of Delhi Police has registered a case on multiple complaints received against FIITJEE Coaching Institute in New Delhi. A total of 192 complaints have been received against the institute, including representations from individual complainants and groups representing affected students’ parents.

2. The Enforcement Directorate has summoned CPI-M MP K Radhakrishnan for questioning on March 15 in a money laundering case linked to alleged irregularities in Karuvannur Service Cooperative Bank.

3. Enforcement Directorate Thursday said it has found “multiple irregularities” in the operations of TASMAC that has monopoly over liquor trade in Tamil Nadu, including “manipulation” in the tender processes and “unaccounted” cash transactions worth Rs 1,000 crore through distillery companies.

In Uttarakhand, a tragic accident took place late last night near Sai Temple on Rajpur Road in Dehradun when a speeding car struck pedestrians walking along the roadside. The impact was so severe that four people lost their lives on the spot, while two others sustained serious injuries.

1. The India-Bangladesh Naval Exercise Bongosagar 2025 and Coordinated Patrol was conducted in Bay of Bengal this week. The exercise saw participation of INS Ranvir from Indian Navy and BNS Abu Ubaidah from Bangladesh Navy.

2. Russia has proposed replacing the R-77 air-to-air missile on India’s Sukhoi Su-30MKI fighter jets with the advanced R-37M missile, offering a significant upgrade to the Indian Air Force’s (IAF) capabilities. This proposal, made during Aero India 2025, includes a license for local production in India.

3. Unistring Tech Solutions Pvt. Ltd., a prominent player in the electronic warfare domain, has recently secured a prestigious contract from the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) for an advanced defence project.This contract, valued at ₹10.3 Crores.

4. The Indian Air Force has significantly enhanced its combat capabilities with the successful test-firing of the indigenously developed Astra Beyond Visual Range Air-to-Air Missile (BVRAAM) from the Air Force variant of TEJAS MK-1A prototype. This milestone was achieved on March 12, 2025, off the coast of Chandipur in Odisha.

5. The Indian Air Force (IAF) is set to receive a significant boost in its air defence capabilities with the procurement of indigenous ‘Ashwini’ Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radars. The Ministry of Defence has signed a contract worth ₹2,906 crore with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) for the supply of these radars.

6. According to the latest report by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), Russia continues to be the largest arms supplier to India, accounting for 36% of India’s arms imports during the period of 2020–2024.However, this marks a significant decline from previous years, where Russia’s share was 55% in 2015–2019 and 72% in 2010–2014.
