iaf successfully test fires brahmos missile from su30 mki fighter jet

DEFENCE

1. Indian Air Force (IAF), on Tuesday, conducted a firing test of the BrahMos cruise missile from the Sukhoi Su-30MKI aircraft from the Eastern Seaboard. Navy tested the anti-ship version of the missile from INS Delhi. The test of the anti-ship variant of the missile was conducted using an upgraded modular launcher on board guided-missile destroyers INS Delhi. The Air Force tested the air-launched version of the missile in the eastern Indian Ocean in coordination with the Indian Navy. A decommissioned Indian Navy ship was used as the target for this test.

2. World’s highest tunnel connecting Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh to be built by BRO. The tunnel will be built by Border Road Organisation at a height of 16,580 feet. It is expected to be operational for commute by 2025.

3. 1st Indian-American commander of a US Navy ship, veteran Shanti Sethi has joined Vice President Kamala Harris’s office as her executive secretary and defence adviser.
