1. The Central Govt on Monday appointed Indian Army Vice Chief Lieutenant General Manoj Pande as the next chief of the Indian Army and he will take over his new office on May 1. He also served as chief engineer in the United Nations mission in Ethiopia and Eritrea

The 29th Army chief will be the first officer from the Corps of Engineers to become the Chief of Army Staff succeeding General Manoj Mukund Naravane who is scheduled to complete his 28 month-tenure on April 30. .

2. INS Vagsheer, India’s final Scorpene-class submarine, to be launched on 20 April: Why it is a big deal for the Indian Navy Considered as one of the most advanced conventional submarines, the INS Vagsheer is part of the P75 Scorpene project.
