Director Varun Gupta added another feather to his cap by his debut film “Tiraha”.The film’s poster is released by Honorable Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami in Dehradun Literature Festival in the presence of renowned lyricist Prasoon Joshi and Bollywood Film Director Ali Abbas Zafar and actor and journalist Satish Sharma. Honorable Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami graced the finale of Dehradun Literature Festival by his presence being a panelist in the Session ‘Rising Uttarakhand’.
The film is based on the Uttrakhand Statehood Movement in 1994 and the sacrifies of the people during the agitation. Where people of the hills of the then Uttar Pradesh were peacefully revolting and agitating for a separate state due to unjust administration. These people were subjected to utmost harassment leading to mass killings and molestation with the women by the public representatives. This incident is still dumped under the soil and hardly anyone knows about it till date. The film is at the pre-production stage and the shoot will start shortly. When it comes to content curation, Varun Gupta always stunned everyone with his choices of content and that we can easily experience in his previous works. His work as a director and curator always goes around the world records and other International platforms. He has previously worked with legends like Mr Amitabh Bachchan, Mr Shatrugan Sinha and Sonakshi Sinha, Lt.Ger. Dr Kiran Bedi, Ms Lakshmi Tripathi and 115 different Artists have given him popularity acroos the globe. His recent upcoming Directorial Musical film presented by Imtiaz Ali “Jeena Abhi Baki Hai” is also all about women Empowerment and motivating women to take a stand had not get subjected by any sort of gender biases. Tiraha is the second directorial film of Varun Gupta after Jeena Abhi Baki Hai. Varun Gupta’s every project has a message that aware people for the betterment of the society.
The film is being produced by South Indian Producer and actor Shreyall Shetty who is a leading Manglore based business who also an acclaimed actor in Southern Cinema and has now turned a producer introducing his own production house ‘ZaShe Multimedia’ along with another producer Samraant Virmani also from Dehradun.
