Delhi Government Inter School Aquatics marked the Revival of Aquatics at Gross Root level.The very first aquatic competition post covid got Delhi’s young swimmers together from different schools in the city.
Inter school Aquatic Meet was inaugurated on 22nd February at Delhi’s famous shyamaprasad swimming pool. It was after a gap of two years, post covid that any aquatic meet was organized at school level. The awaited inter school aquatic championship was organized by Directorate of Education, Sports branch, Delhi Government. In this swimming meet no entry fee is charged from participants and the winners are given cash awards which helps in bridging the gap in society.
During inaugural ceremony Director of Education, Delhi government Mr.Himanshu Gupta said, ” by organizing inter school aquatic meet we are giving a platform to young swimmers to achieve & excel”.
Mr.Sanjay, Dy.Director Sports added on the occasion that the Delhi government will reopen all the Delhi government swimming pools soon.
The opening day meet saw participation of Delhi’s international swimmers like Bhavya Sachdeva, Dhruv sejwal & many national swimmers as well.
