The man from the mountains, who doesn’t know Mohit Chauhan. A soulful voice behind songs from iconic films like Rang De Basanti, Jab We Met, Love Aajkal and Rockstar, he is one of the finest singers of the country. He was a part of the Silk Route band in the early days of his life. Breaking the stereotypes, his song Dooba Dooba became an overnight hit during that time and the band gained a lot of appreciation for its raw yet soulful music numbers.
A. R Rehman noticed Chauhan at a popular award function and he was called by the composer to sing “Khoon Chala” for the film Rang De Basanti. The song proved to be a breakthrough for him and since then there has been no looking back. In 2011, Rehman and Chauhan reunited for Rockstar where all the 9 songs were sung by Mohit Chauhan. If that wasn’t all, he also recorded for the voice of Jordan, the character played by Ranbir Kapoor in the film. Adding to his fame, Mohit has recently sung a very soulful beautiful song titled “1978” from the series Barun Rai And The House On the Cliff”.
