indian railways cancelled 400 trains due to weather conditions

1. India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has crossed 159 crore 54 lakh. Over 91 crore 86 lakh vaccine doses have been administered as first dose and more than 67 crore vaccine doses given as second doses.

2. Over 50% of children between the age of 15 and 18 years have received their 1st dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said.

3. PM Modi will deliver the Keynote address at the national launch ceremony of Azadi Ke Amrit Mahotsav se Swarnim Bharat Ke Ore today via video conferencing. The program will unveil yearlong initiatives dedicated to Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav by the Brahma Kumaris, which include more than 30 Campaigns and over 15000 programs and events.

4. 69th meeting of Governing Body of National Water Development Agency, NWDA was held through video conferencing on 19 Jan. The meeting was chaired by Secretary, Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation. During the meeting, programme and progress of works of NWDA for the year 2021-22, the status and review of progress of works and studies of various interlinking of river projects and constitution of National Interlinking of Rivers Authority were deliberated.

7. GOA : AAP names Amit Palekar as its Chief Ministerial candidate in Goa. Goa will go for Assembly polls on 14th February for 40 seats.

8. MEGHALAYA: cabinet has approved the recommendations of three regional committees, namely West Khasi Hills, Ri-Bhoi, East and West Jaintia Hills along with the recommendation of the Assam Government which will be submitted to the Union Home Minister on Thursday evening with regard to the long-pending border dispute between the neighbouring States.

On January 19, Indian railways cancelled 400 trains including passengers, mail-express. the Railways has taken this decision due to weather conditions, ongoing repairs and several other reasons in different zones of railways across the nation. The official website of The National Train Enquiry System (NTES) of Railways has released the list of cancelled trains.

10. TELANGANA : State govt on Wednesday issued orders sanctioning Dearness Allowance (DA) to its employees and pensioners which has been pending from January 1, 2020. The government has sanctioned three pending DAs at a time.

11.UTTARAKHAND : Colonel (retd) Vijay Rawat the brother of late General Bipin Rawat, the first Chief of Defence State of India joined the BJP. He met with Chief Minister, Pushkar Dhami.

12. Cabinet approves infusion of Rs 1500 Cr in Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited, IREDA; also approves extension of tenure of National Commission for Safai Karamcharis for 3-years.

13. The Cabinet has also cleared the Scheme for grant of ex-gratia payment of difference between compound interest and simple interest for six months to borrowers in specified loan accounts. It has approved the payment of ex-gratia amount of over 973 crore rupees pertaining to remaining claims submitted by Lending Institutions under the Scheme.

14. ENTERTAINMENT:
Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur has said that government will take strict action against those websites running anti-India content. Talking to reporters in New Delhi today, he said, it has identified 20 such accounts that are being run from neighbouring country

15. DEFENCE:
The govt has approved the appointment of Eastern Command chief Lt General Manoj Pande as the next Army vice-chief, even as the decision on the next chief of defence staff (CDS) is still awaited.

16. The 17th Raising Day of National Disaster Response Force was celebrated at all field formations and Headquarter in New Delhi with great zeal and enthusiasm. Director General, NDRF, Atul Karwal addressed the NDRF personnel through Video Conference.

17. Anadrone Systems to deliver aerial targets for Indian Army:. The Indian Army has signed a contract, worth $12.88m (Rs960m), with Anadrone Systems for the manoeuvrable expendable aerial target (MEAT). The contract to procure the aerial target systems is the first to be signed by the army under the Make-II category.
