1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold bilateral talks with US President Donald Trump in both the restricted and delegation level formats in Washington.

2. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday that India and the United States have set a $500 billion target for bilateral trade by 2030 and added that the teams of two nations will work together to finalise a mutually beneficial trade agreement.

Modi said, “The people of America are well aware of President Trump’s motto ‘MAGA – Make America Great Again’. The people of India too are focusing on heritage and development as they move forward at a fast pace and with a firm resolve towards the goal of Viksit Bharat 2047. In the language of America, it’s Make India Great Again — MIGA.

3. ADNOC Gas has finalized a major long-term agreement to supply liquefied natural gas to Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, marking a significant expansion of energy cooperation between the UAE and India. The 14-year Sales and Purchase Agreement(SPA), valued between 7 billion dollars and 9 billion dollars, will provide Indian Oil with up to 1.2 million tonnes of LNG annually starting in 2026.

4. The Philippines is considering a defence deal with India for the purchase of Akash short-range surface-to-air missiles for over $200 million. If the deal is finalized, it would be India’s second major weapons deal with Manila.

1. Palestinian group Hamas announced that it will continue to implement the ceasefire deal, including a hostage-prisoner exchange within the agreed time frame. This announcement came after talks in Cairo, where mediators from Egypt and Qatar assured that they will work to remove obstacles hindering the agreement’s implementation.

2. Sri Lanka’s 2025 Budget to be Presented in Parliament on Monday.

3. Centrist Liberal Party leader Ilie Bolojan became Romania’s interim president.

4. China has approved the construction of the first South China Sea deepwater ‘space station. The cold seep ecosystem research facility will be anchored 2,000 metres below the surface of the strategically significant South China Sea, which is also subject to several competing territorial claims. The facility one of the deepest and most technologically complex underwater installations ever attempted is scheduled to be operational by around 2030.

5. A recent report by Transparency International has labeled Pakistan as one of the most corrupt countries in the world, where the menace is prevalent across all sectors of government, judiciary, and society. According to the report released earlier this week, Pakistan ranked 135th out of 180 countries on the Corruption Perception Index (CPI) in 2024.
