1. Both the Houses of the Parliament on Thursday went into recess till 10th of March as the first leg of the Budget Session of Parliament came to a close. In Lok Sabha, Speaker Om Birla said the first phase of the session has recorded 112 per cent productivity.

2. Income-Tax Bill 2025 was introduced in the Lok Sabha on Thursday. The Bill aims at consolidating and amending the law relating to income tax. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman introduced the Bill in the lower house.

3. The Minister of State for Panchayati Raj, Professor S.P. Singh Baghel, launched a devolution index report titled ‘Status of Devolution to Panchayats in States – An Indicative Evidence-Based Ranking, 2024’ in New Delhi on Thursday.

4. Government will organize a special nationwide campaign for registrations on the National Fisheries Digital Platform to avail various benefits provided under Pradhan Mantri Matsya Kisan Samridhi Sah-Yojana from Friday.

8. The government is planning to bring various national pension schemes under one umbrella in the days to come: Labour and Employment Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya said. He said all these schemes will provide three to Five thousand monthly pensions after the beneficiary attains 60 years of age.

1. In Kerala, a dawn-to-dusk hartal is being observed in Wayanad, in protest against the state government’s failure to address the rising incidents of human-animal conflict in the region. The hartal, called by the Congress-led UDF, is in the backdrop of a couple of recent incidents in which two persons had lost their lives in a wild elephant attack.

2. Three militants allegedly involved in extortion have been nabbed in separate operations in Manipur’s Imphal West district, police said. Two insurgents belonging to the banned Peoples’ Revolutionary Front of Kangleipak (PREPAK PRO) outfit were apprehended on Namdulong Khuman Lampak Main Stadium Road.

3. Sheena Bora murder case: The Supreme Court has dismissed Indrani Mukerjea’s plea to travel abroad, emphasizing the need to conclude her trial within a year. The CBI opposed her travel request, stressing the sensitivity of the case, with 96 witnesses already testifying. A special court had earlier permitted her travel, but this decision was overturned by the high court.

1. The RBI has lifted restrictions on Kotak Mahindra Bank, allowing it to resume digital onboarding of customers and issue new credit cards. These curbs were imposed in April 2024 due to IT infrastructure deficiencies.

2. The RBI has allowed Small Finance Banks (SFBs) to offer pre-sanctioned credit lines through UPI, expanding digital credit access to underserved segments. This move builds on the September 2023 decision permitting Scheduled Commercial Banks to link credit lines with UPI.

1. The BrahMos-NG (Next Generation) missile is slated for its first flight test in 2026, with production expected to begin in 2027-28.

2. The Indian government has initiated a significant procurement process for nearly 1,000 surveillance helicopters designed for high-altitude operations.

3. Indian Air Force Plans to retire the Oldest Jaguar Fighters Between 2028 and 2031. India is the world’s only Jaguar operator, maintaining approximately 120 aircraft distributed among six squadrons.

The IAF plans to retire the oldest Jaguar aircraft between 2028 and 2031, replacing them with HAL TEJAS MK-1A aircraft. The remaining Jaguars will be upgraded to the DARIN III configuration, incorporating the EL/M-2052 AESA radar and ASRAAM air-to-air missile integration.

4. Bangalore South MP Tejasvi Surya took a sortie on the HTT-40, India’s indigenous basic trainer aircraft developed by HAL, at Aero India 2025. The HTT-40 is a fully aerobatic aircraft powered by a four-bladed turbo-prop engine and equippedChief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday inaugurated a state-of-the-art Microsoft campus in Gachibowli, marking the company’s 25th anniversary in Hyderabad.
