2. PM Modi will visit Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh today (07 Dec). He will lay the foundation stone of development projects worth ten thousand crore rupees.

3. The PM will inaugurate the Gorakhpur Fertiliser Plant, whose foundation stone was laid by him in 2016. The Fertiliser Plant was lying shut for more than 30 years and has been revived and built at a cost of around eight thousand 600 crore rupees. The Fertiliser Plant will produce 3,850 metric tonnes of urea per day. The Gorakhpur Plant will prove to be of immense benefit for the farmers of Purvanchal region and adjoining areas by meeting their demand for Urea fertiliser.

4. PM Modi will also inaugurate the fully functional complex of AIIMS, Gorakhpur which has been built at a cost of over one thousand crore rupees. The foundation stone for the complex was laid by the Prime Minister in 2016.

5. The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the new building of Regional Medical Research Centre. The Centre has been instrumental in tackling the challenge of Japanese encephalitis in the region.

6. NAGALAND INCIDENT ::
Home Minister Amit Shah conveyed the government’s regret in Lok Sabha over the killings of civilians in firing by security forces in Nagaland and said that a probe by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) will be completed within a month. With Lok Sabha members from various parties condemning the incident.

7. Speaking in the Parliament, Amit Shah said, “We received information on the movement of extremists in Oting, Mon. On that basis, 21 commandos laid an ambush in the suspected area. A vehicle reached there and was signalled to stop but it tried to escape at full speed, invoking suspicion of the vehicle carrying extremists and it was fired upon. 6 out of the 8 people in the vehicle died. It was later found to be a case of mistaken identity. 2 others who were injured were taken to the nearest health centre by Army.

8. The Union Home Minister added, “After the incident, an agitated crowd of around 250 people vandalized the company operating base (COB) of Assam Rifles in Mon city & set the COB building on fire. Security forces had to resort to firing for self-defence and to disperse the crowd. This caused the death of 7 more civilians, some others got injured.

11. Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri has informed that 8.8 crore LPG connections has been released till 30th Nov, 2021 under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana(PMUY) including Ujjwala 2.0 across the country.

12. J&K : Security forces arrested a terrorist along with his associate in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district. 52 Rashyriya Rifles and 177 Bn CRPF in the said area. During the search operation, terrorist and his associate were challenged by the search party, however they tried to escape from the spot but the alert search party apprehended them tactfully.

13. KARNATAKA CM Basavaraj Bommai said a decision on expanding his cabinet will be taken on the advice of the BJP high command after the winter session of the state legislature, beginning next week. There are currently 30 ministers in the state cabinet, including the Chief Minister, against the sanctioned strength of 34.

14. MAHARASHTRA : President Ramnath Kovind who is on a four day visit to Maharashtra visited the famous Raigad fort on 06 Dec. Speaking after paying tributes to Maratha warrior king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at his samadhi, he said it is a proud moment for every Indian citizen to visit the Raigad fort. He said, he considers Raigad as a place of pilgrimage.

15. Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede’s father Dnyandev Wankhede on 06 Dec filed a breach of defamation against NCP leader Nawab Malik in the Bombay HC.

16. Maharashtra on Monday detected two more cases of the Omicron variant of COVID-19, taking the total count in the state to 10.

17. NAGALAND counter-insurgency operation that went horrifically wrong and led to 15 deaths over the weekend, had started after a unit of the army’s elite 21 Para Special Forces thought they saw a hunting rifle in a truck that was coming along the Tiru-Oting road of Mon district. The forces, which laid an ambush for insurgents, immediately opened fire, killing six of the coal miners who were in the truck, army sources said. Two others, who were injured, were taken to the hospital by the army. By evening, the matter went out of hand as villagers arrived and attacked.

18. The Indian economy is showing strong signs of recovery. 19 out of 22 economic indicators have registered an increase compared to the situation before the Covid-19 pandemic.

19. Among the 19 FPIs, there are several indicators whose recovery is way beyond 100 per cent, such as E-Way bills by volume, merchandize exports, coal production, rail freight traffic, fertilizers sales, PMI services, power consumption, tractors sales, cement production, port cargo traffic, fuel consumption, air cargo traffic.

20. Bollywood actors Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal’s wedding is one of the most anticipated events of the year 2021. The actors are all set to tie the knot on December 9, 2021, at Six Senses Fort Barwara in Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan. The pre-wedding rituals will commenced from December 7.

21. The title teaser of Kannada star Puneeth Rajkumar’s film “Gandhada Gudi” was unveiled by the makers on 06 Dec, two months after the actor passed away. The teaser was launched on the birth anniversary of the actor’s mother Parvathamma Rajkumar.

The film is reportedly a documentary on the wildlife of Karnataka and is set to release theatrically next year. The actor, one of the biggest stars of Kannada cinema, died at the age of 46 after suffering a cardiac arrest on October 29.

22. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has served a notice on actor Sonu Sood, asking him to restore a six-storey structure — that was turned into a hotel — back to a residential building. The notice was issued on November 15. He had allegedly converted the residential premises into a hotel.

24. BIRTH DAY: Air Marshal Denzil Keelor PVSM, KC, AVSM, VrC (born 7 December 1933) is a retired Indian Air Force air marshal and a hero of the Indo-Pakistani war 1965.
He was honoured with a number of medals including the Veer Chakra, the Param Vishisht Seva Medal, the Keerti Chakra and the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal.
He had a younger brother, Trevor, who was also honoured for his service in the Indian Air Force. Both brothers have a Veer Chakra for the same feat of shooting down a Sabre jet. This is the first time two brothers have received Veer Chakras for the same reason.

25. Indian Army has published the TGC 135 notification for male engineering graduates.

Applications are invited from eligible unmarried Male Engineering Graduates for 135th Technical Graduate Course (TGC-135) commencing in July 2022 at Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun for Permanent Commission in the Indian Army.
