38TH NATIONAL GAMES
(a) Shuttler Anmol Kharb of Haryana continued her impressive run to win gold in women’s singles, while Tamil Nadu’s K. Satish Kumar claimed the men’s singles as well as the doubles title at the 38th National Games at Dehradun.
(b) In men’s doubles, Karnataka’s Nithin HV and Prakash Raj S beat Vaibhav and Ashith Surya 21-16, 21-14 for gold. Shikha Gautam and Ashwini Bhat secured the women’s doubles title, defeating Angel Punera and Anya Bisht 21-11, 21-13.
(c) In badminton, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu dominated the matches. In the mixed doubles final, Tamil Nadu clinched the gold medal by defeating Maharashtra. In the men’s singles category, Tamil Nadu’s Satish Kumar triumphed over Uttarakhand’s Suryaksh Rawat in a closely contested match.
(d) In 3×3 basketball competition, Telangana’s women’s team put up a strong display to win the gold medal, while Kerala secured silver and Madhya Pradesh took home the bronze.
(e) Medal Tally, Karnataka leads with 28 gold medals, followed by Services in second place with 21 golds.
2. In Mumbai Open Tennis 2025, India’s Ankita Raina has advanced to the pre-quarterfinals with a commanding victory over her compatriot Vaishnavi Adkar 6-2, 6-2 in the Women’s Singles round of 32 at the Cricket Club of India in Mumbai.
