Centre to repeal all three farm laws

1. India’s COVID vaccination coverage has crossed 115.73 crore mark on Friday. Out of the total vaccination, more than 76 crore 19 lakh vaccine doses have been given as first dose while over 39.54 crore doses have been administered as second dose.

2. PM Modi announces, Centre to repeal all three farm laws in upcoming Winter Session of Parliament; Appeals to protesting farmers to call off agitation and return home.

3. Addressing the nation on the auspicious occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti, Modi insisted that the laws were in the benefit of farmers and then apologised to people of the country while adding that the government could not convince a section of farmers despite its clear heart
and clean conscience.

4. PM Modi announced an important initiative for the agriculture sector. He announced the formation of a committee to promote zero budgeting-based agriculture, to change crop patterns as per the changing needs of the country and to make MSP more effective and transparent. The Committee will have representatives of the central government, state governments, farmers, agricultural scientists and agricultural economists.

5. Farmers Union leaders, Opposition leaders, CMs of various states welcome Centre’s decision to repeal farm laws. Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) has welcomed the decision of repealing the three farm laws. In a statement, the Kisan leaders said they will wait for the announcement to take effect through due parliamentary procedures.

6. PM Modi launches several development projects in Bundelkhand region.inaugurated multiple projects worth 3,250 crore rupees in Mahoba. These projects include Arjun Sahayak Project, Ratauli Weir Project, Bhaoni Dam Project and Majhgaon-Chilli Sprinkler Project which will help alleviate the issue of water shortage in the region and bring much-needed relief to the farmers.

7. The operationalisation of these projects will help in irrigation of around 65,000 hectares of land in the districts of Mahoba, Hamirpur, Banda and Lalitpur, benefitting lakhs of farmers of the Bundelkhand region. These projects will also provide potable drinking water to the region.

8. PM Modi said. India is working to become Atmanirbhar in defence sector with Mantra of ‘Make In India- Make for World’: Make in India, Make for the world. Now, India is working to make its forces self-reliant. PM Modi was addressing the concluding ceremony of the RASHTRA RAKSHA SAMPARPAN PARV which culminated in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh on Friday where he dedicated to the nation multiple initiatives.

9. Ministry of Rural Development has reached an important milestone with the completion of Geographical Information System (GIS) plans for two lakh Gram Panchayats out of 2.69 lakh GPs. GIS-based planning under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, is an initiative of the Ministry which helps the Gram Panchayat to ensure a scientific and holistic approach for planning at the Gram Panchayat level.

10. ANDHRA PRADESH: Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu the Leader of the Opposition on Friday vowed to step into the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly again only after returning to power.

11. HARYANA : Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr. Jitendra Singh launched first of its kind, latest, world’s most sophisticated MRI facility at the National Brain Research Centre (NBRC), Manesar in Haryana. It is India’s premier institute dedicated to Neuroscience Research and Education.

12. KARNATAKA : Calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision to repeal the three contentious farm laws as ‘freedom for farmers’, former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday demanded a compensation of Rs 25 lakh to each of the farmers who ‘martyred’ during the agitation.

13.MAHARASHTRA : Ahmednagar District Court in Maharashtra on Friday granted bail to a doctor and three nurses, arrested in connection with the fire broke on 6th of November at the District Government Hospital in which 12 COVID patients lost their lives. The four have been granted bail on a personal bond of 25,000 rupees each.

14. PUNJAB : Senior lawyer DS Patwalia was appointed as the new Advocate General of Punjab days after his predecessor APS Deol resigned.

15. TAMIL NADU : The depression in the Bay of Bengal weakened into well-marked low pressure over north interior Tamil Nadu and adjoining Karnataka and Rayalaseema. The Regional Met Department has predicted moderate to heavy rains in certain areas of interior districts. Though rains have subsided in many districts, rains in the neighbouring states have almost overflooded certain dams in the state.

16. UTTAR PRADESH : Nearly 12 lakh people from Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and other states visited Haridwar on Friday on the occasion of Kartik Poornima for a bath. This was the maximum number of people who visited Haridwar after Mahakumbh when over 90 lakh people paid a visit.

17. India’s foreign exchange reserves declined by $763 million to $640.112 billion in the week ended November 12, data released by the Reserve Bank of India showed. The decline was on account of a dip in foreign currency assets, which dropped by $2.094 billion to $575.487 billion. Gold reserves were up by $1.461 billion to $40.239 billion in the reporting week.

18. World Economic Forum-founder prof Klaus Schwab on Friday said India will become a financial superpower if it uses Artificial Intelligence to digitise its vast farm sector. In his virtual address at the plenary session of the Bengaluru Tech Summit- 2021.

19. 52 edition of IFFI to open with a grand ceremony on Saturday. opening ceremony will be hosted by filmmaker Karan Johar and actor Manish Paul.

20. One of the highlights of this year’s IFFI is that 75 of the brightest, young from across India will be participating in the “75 creative minds of tomorrow” competition. Martin Scorsese and Istevan Szabo will be honoured with Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award. The two towering figures of international cinema will make their presence felt virtually at the inaugural ceremony. ‘The King of all the World’ directed by Carlos Saura will be the Opening Film and this will also be the film’s international premiere.

21. As many as 55 films across the world will be showcased under the World Panorama Section The International Film Competition will be adjudged by an international jury with Chairperson Iranian filmmaker Ms. Rakhshān Banietemad.

22. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday handed over Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) designed and developed Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) and other indigenously manufactured defence equipment to Indian Air Force in Jhansi.

23. Union Defence Minister Rajanth Singh on Friday said Defence Ministry is continuously working to fulfil Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s resolution of ‘Self-reliant India’, and soon 90 per cent equipment of the country’s defence requirements will be made in India.

24. PM Modi handed over Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) designed and developed Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) and other indigenously manufactured defence equipment to Indian Air Force.

He also handed over an advanced electronic warfare system ‘Shakti’ to the Indian Navy.

25. The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone of the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor project worth Rs 400 crores. He also launched the NCC Alumni Association in the city and became its first member during the culmination event of ‘Rashtra Raksha Samarpan Parv’.

26. An IAF chopper on Friday rescued 10 people who were stranded in the Chitravathi river that was overflowing amid rains in the Ananthapuramu district of Andhra Pradesh.
