1. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast dense fog in parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh during the night and early morning hours.
Minimum temperatures are expected to rise by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius over Northwest India during the next 3 days.

2. PM Modi will inaugurate the Sonamarg Tunnel project in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday. This tunnel will provide all-weather connectivity between Srinagar and Sonamarg en route to Leh. During the visit, the Prime Minister will also meet the construction workers and acknowledge their contribution to this engineering feat. The Sonamarg Tunnel project, around 12 km long, has been constructed at a cost of over two thousand seven hundred crore rupees.

5. Haj 2025: 3,676 Applicants from various states have been allotted provisional seats for Haj 2025. The Haj Committee of India released the second waiting list for this year’s Haj. The Minority Affairs Ministry said that these applicants must deposit two lakh seventy-two thousand three hundred rupees towards the Haj amount before the 23rd of this month.

6. The Union Minister of State for Science and Technology; Earth Sciences and MoS for PMO, Dr. Jitendra Singh has announced the establishment of a Regional Meteorological Centre at Jammu.

7. Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has launched the Bharat Cleantech Manufacturing Platform at the Bharat Climate Forum 2025 in New Delhi. The platform is an initiative designed to enhance India’s cleantech value chains in the solar, wind, hydrogen, and battery storage sectors.

8. PM Modi will participate in the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2025 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi today on the occasion of National Youth Day, commemorating the birth anniversary of youth icon and one of the greatest spiritual leaders of India, Swami Vivekananda.

9. Qualifying UGC – National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) is mandatory for appointment as assistant professor for those having masters degree in non-professional courses, the University Grants Commission (UGC) chairman Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar clarified.

10. Telangana CM Revanth Reddy held a review on liquor supply and beer prices with excise officials. Revanth Reddy directed the officials to adopt a transparent mechanism to select the companies that come forward to supply liquor to the Telangana state.

11. The Telangana government has rolled out a new procedure to apply for post-metric scholarships for the academic year 2024-25. The new procedure issued as per the norms of the Centre, will apply to Scheduled Caste students.

12. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has provided a significant update regarding its Space Docking Experiment (SpaDeX) mission. As of 11 January 2025, the two SpaDeX satellites—designated SDX01 (Chaser) and SDX02 (Target)—are currently positioned at an Inter Satellite Distance (ISD) of 230 meters.

1. The Central Bureau of Investigation filed a case against Udit Prakash Rai, a former Delhi govt education director and IAS officer, for alleged irregularities and corruption. The charges include appointment of faculty members, including Rai’s wife, Shilpi, at the govt-aided Delhi Tamil Education Association (DTEA) schools using fake experience certificates.

2. The dismissed Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Gursher Singh Sandhu, who has been accused in the alleged facilitation of a video interview of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi while in custody, has moved a bail application in Mohali District and Sessions court.The case will be heard on January 13.

3. In Jammu: A dozen illegally built houses and four plinths were demolished in a major encroachment drive on Saturday, leading to retrieval of 10 kanals of the land belonging to the Jammu Development Authority (JDA).

4. Nine Naxalites, including two women, surrendered in Chhattisgarh, collectively carrying a bounty of Rs 43 lakh. This event took place in the Sukma district, where the individuals had been sought by law enforcement for their involvement in Naxalite activities.

1. A high court advocate, Mamidal Thirumal Rao, filed a case against actor Rishab Shetty, Prasanth Varma and the producers for depicting Hanuman with a ‘human face’.

Deputy Director General, Defence Investment and Corridor Cell, department of defence production, Akhilesh Kumar Mishra said.
