1. INDIA & FRANCE
India and its traditional strategic partner from Europe France have discussed wide ranging measures to expand their partnership in the Indo-Pacific region as both sides emphasised on the mutual trust factor amid China’s growing belligerence and deteriorating ties between Paris and London as well as Canberra in the backdrop of AUKUS.
2. India and France agreed to strengthen defence and security partnership by enhancing intelligence and information sharing, bolstering capabilities, expanding military drills and pursuing new initiatives in maritime, space and cyber domains, the Indian embassy in Paris said.
3. INDIA & CHINA
China is strengthening connectivity and increasing its depth in Chumbi valley in the Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR), close to India’s strategic and vulnerable Siliguri corridor, also called Chicken’s neck of India. India has resorted to multipronged approach to beef up security and defence of the strategically important Siliguri Corridor.
4. The “large 100-home civilian village” mentioned in a Pentagon report to US Congress on Chinese construction in disputed territory along Upper Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh has long become a permanent military camp of the PLA
5. INDIA-AFGHANISTAN
India to host Delhi Regional Security Dialogue on Afghanistan on 10th Nov. The Dialogue will be held at the level of National Security Advisers or Secretaries of Security Councils and will be chaired by India’s National Security Adviser Ajit Doval.
6. The Delhi Regional Security Dialogue on Afghanistan will witness expanded participation of Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan who will all be represented by their National Security Advisers or Secretaries of the Security Councils. India had also invited Pakistan and China for the meeting. However, both countries are not participating.
7. The high level Dialogue will review the security situation in the region arising from recent developments in Afghanistan. It will deliberate upon measures to address the relevant security challenges and support the people of Afghanistan in promoting peace, security, and stability.
8. The UK government has said that India’s Covaxin will be added to its list of approved COVID-19 vaccines for international travellers from November 22, meaning that those inoculated with the Bharat Biotech-manufactured jab will not have to self-isolate after arrival in England.

1. North Korea has conducted artillery firing exercises to bolster its defense capability.
2. BANGLADESH: The Bangla version of the book ‘Operation X’ about the naval commando operation jointly launched by the Indian Navy and the Mukti Bahini of Bangladesh was launched in Dhaka on Monday . The book is written by Capt MNR Samant and Sandeep Unnithan.
3. Astronaut Wang Yaping has become the first Chinese woman to walk in space. She completed a six-hour stint outside Tiangong space station on November 7, 2021.
4. Core module of the Tiangong entered orbit earlier in 2021. This station is expected to be operational by 2022.
Tiangong is expected to operate for around 10 years. Tiangong, means heavenly palace.
5. NASA and US Geological Survey led Landsat 9 mission collected and sent its first light images of the Earth. Images highlight the remote coastal islands and inlets of Kimberley region of Western Australia, Lake Erie, white sands of Pensacola Beach and Glaciers high in the Himalayas.
6. Landsat 9 is an Earth observation satellite. It was launched from Space Launch Complex-3E at Vandenberg Space Force Base on September 27, 2021. The mission was launched through an Atlas V 401 launch vehicle. This is a joint mission of NASA and US Geological Survey (USGS).
