1. The Winter Session of Parliament came to an end yesterday as both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha adjourned sine die. Amid din, the two bills related to One Nation One Election were referred to the Joint Committee of Parliament. The Winter Session of Parliament started on 25th of last month.

2. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijjiu expresses concern over low productivity of both Houses during winter session.

5. Delhi University will introduce a one-year postgraduate course from 2026 in line with the National Education Policy. The draft proposal will be discussed at the Academic Council meeting scheduled for December 27. Delhi University has already implemented a four-year undergraduate programme, with the third semester currently underway. Under this framework, students exiting after the first year receive a certificate, those leaving after the second year are awarded a diploma, and those completing three years obtain a degree.

6. The Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 will take place from January 17-22 across Delhi NCR, marking India’s growing role as a global hub for mobility.

7. Telangana chief minister A Revanth Reddy has agreed to the proposal to install a 100-foot statue of former chief minister and actor Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR) in Hyderabad.
According to the NTR Literature Committee, this commitment was made by Revanth Reddy during a meeting on Thursday, December 19, with NTR’s son, Mohanakrishna.

8. Bombay high court on Friday cleared the decks for redevelopment of Dharavi slums as it upheld the tender awarded to the Adani Group for the project by the Maharashtra government, ruling there was no “arbitrariness, unreasonableness or perversity” in the decision.

9. Bengaluru is set to experience light rainfall in the coming days, as per the forecast by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). This shift in weather is attributed to a well-marked low-pressure area forming over the southwest Bay of Bengal, near the Tamil Nadu-Andhra Pradesh coast.

10. Former Haryana Chief Minister and senior Indian National Lok Dal leader Om Prakash Chautala passed away in Gurugram. He was 89. A five-time Chief Minister of Haryana and son of former deputy Prime Minister Devi Lal.

1. In Rajasthan, the death toll has risen to 11 in the gas tanker fire accident on Jaipur-Ajmer highway. Twenty nine people have been injured in the incident which took place at around 6 yesterday morning when a gas tanker collided with a truck near the ring road on Ajmer Highway, triggering a massive fire engulfing several vehicles nearby.

2. In Maharashtra, five passengers have lost their lives in an accident in Tamhini Ghat, Raigad district. The accident occurred at around 10 AM today when the driver of the bus lost control and the vehicle fell into a gorge.

3. Mumbai ferry mishap:
The search operation launched by naval boats to locate a seven-year-old boy missing after a Navy craft rammed into a ferry off the Mumbai coast two days ago continued on Friday and will go on for another 72 hours at least, an official said.

1. Government increases MSP of Milling and Ball Copra for 2025 season to ensure better returns to farmers. MSP for Fair Average Quality of milling copra has been fixed at 11 thousand 582 rupees per quintal and for ball copra at 12 thousand 100 rupees per quintal.

1. *Defence Ministry to procure modernised artillery guns worth over 7 thousand crore rupees for the Army* : The Ministry of Defence has signed a contract worth 7 thousand 6 hundred and 29 crore rupees for procurement of K9 VAJRA-T Self-Propelled Tracked Artillery Guns for the Indian Army. The contract was signed by senior officials of the Ministry and representatives of Larsen and Toubro Limited in presence of Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh in New Delhi.

2. Union Home Minister Amit Shah attends Sashastra Seema Bal’s 61st Raising Day programme at Siliguri in West Bengal.

3. Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is set to begin deliveries of new Sukhoi Su-30MKI fighter jets to the Indian Air Force (IAF) starting in April 2027.

4. The Ministry of Defence of India has signed a significant contract worth ₹7,629 crore with Larsen & Toubro (L&T) for the procurement of 100 K-9 Vajra-T self-propelled tracked artillery guns.
