1. President Bashar al-Assad’s 24-year rule comes to an end in Syria; Opposition forces seize control of capital Damascus. Media reports also quoted Syrian Prime Minister Mohammad Ghazi al-Jalali saying that he is ready to handover the government to the opposition forces in a peaceful transition.

In a major development for West Asian security cooperation, the United States, Bahrain, and the United Kingdom have announced an expansion of their strategic partnership through the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA). The UK’s entry into this agreement marks a crucial enhancement of the existing security framework, which was initially established between the US and Bahrain in 2023.
