1. The launch of the PSLV-C59 rocket, intended to carry the PROBA-3 spacecraft, has been rescheduled to Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 16:12 hours. This decision was made due to an anomaly detected in the PROBA-3 spacecraft shortly before the original launch time, which was scheduled for December 4 at 16:08 hours.
2. The Government has said that the Sex Ratio at Birth of girl child in the country has improved from 918 in 2014-15 to 930 in 2023-24. Minister of State for Women and Child Development Savitri Thakur said this in a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha.
3. The Rajya Sabha has passed the Boilers Bill 2024. It repeals the Boilers Act, 1923. Specific provisions have been made in the Bill to ensure the safety of persons working inside a boiler and the repair of boilers undertaken by qualified and competent persons.

The Central Bureau of Investigation, CBI, conducted searches at 10 locations in Delhi and surrounding areas in connection with cyber fraud case, involving financial frauds of around one hundred 17 crore rupees. According to the CBI, the investigation has so far revealed that fraudsters operating from overseas use digital platforms, such as websites, WhatsApp, and Telegram to target victims in India.

The Supreme Court dismissed Union of India’s appeal against order of Armed Forces Tribunal granting a Liberalised Family Pension (LFP) and other benefits to the widow of a soldier who died while on an Area Domination Patrol along the Line of Control.A bench of Justice Abhay Oka and Justice Augustine George Masih imposed cost of Rs. 50,000 on the appellant.

1. India’s external debt rose by USD 31 billion to reach USD 646.79 billion in 2023, according to the World Bank’s International Debt Report. Interest payments also increased significantly from USD 15.08 billion in 2022 to USD 22.54 billion in 2023. Long-term debt stocks grew by 7% to USD 498 billion, while short-term debt declined slightly to USD 126.32 billion.
2. Adani Defence and Aerospace has successfully delivered its second Drishti-10 Starliner surveillance drone to the Indian Navy, enhancing India’s maritime surveillance capabilities significantly. 1. The Supreme Court on Wednesday asked the short service commission women officers in the Indian Navy to move the Armed Forces Tribunal (AFT) for their reliefs including consequential promotion to the captain rank.
2. The Indian Navy is taking significant steps towards sustainability by exploring the use of hydrogen fuel for its operations. Vice Admiral V Srinivas, the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Naval Command, announced that the Navy is in discussions with Cochin Shipyard Ltd (CSL) regarding the implementation of hydrogen fuel technology in both small and larger vessels.
