Day 1 11th Hockey India Senior Women National Championship 2021

Jhansi, 21 October 2021: Hockey Jharkhand, Hockey Rajasthan, Hockey Karnataka, Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh Hockey and Kerala Hockey registered victories in their respective matches on the opening day of the 11th Hockey India Senior Women National Championship 2021 here in Jhansi today.

In the first match of the day, Hockey Jharkhand registered a 3-0 victory over Delhi Hockey in their Pool F game. Pramila Soreng (10′, 20′) scored a brace, while Roshni Dungdung (45′) scored one goal for Delhi Hockey.

In the second Pool F match of the day, Hockey Rajasthan registered a 21-0 victory over Hockey Andaman & Nicobar. Reena Kanwar Balawat (13′, 16′, 19′, 29′) found the back of the net four times, while Captain Beena Pandey (5′, 12, 22′) and Keemat Meena (10′, 12′, 51′) scored three goals each. Meanwhile, Reena Saini (26′, 48′), Nidhi Chanderia (29′, 39′), Manisha Sharma (30′, 39′) and Rinky Solanky (45′, 55′) scored two goals each. Kiran Meena (34′), Radha Meena (57′) and Pooja Meena (60′) scored one goal each.

Hockey Karnataka defeated Telangana Hockey 7-0 in their Pool G match. Nisha PC (2′, 36′, 56′) and Anjali HR (16′, 19′, 54′) scored a hat-trick each while Yashika MG (39′) scored one goal for Hockey Karnataka.

In the other Pool G match, Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu defeated Tripura Hockey 12-0. Kavya R (2′, 34′, 35′) and Malarvizhi S (23′, 29′, 37′) scored a hat-trick each, while Kamaleshwari A (14′), Jayapratha S (28′), Mageshwari K (39′), Nishanthini Ravi (47′), K Thamarai (51′) and Priyanga S (55′) scored one goal each.

In Pool H, Uttar Pradesh Hockey registered a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Assam Hockey. Sonal Tiwari (8′) and Nilanjali Rai (48′) found the back of the net for Uttar Pradesh Hockey.

In the final Pool H match of the day, Kerala Hockey eased past Hockey Jammu & Kashmir with a 7-0 victory. Arya KM (12′, 24′, 54′) scored a hat-trick, while Captain Athira Prasad Shylaja (4′, 51′) scored a brace. Aiswarya KV (19′) and Ashmi M (60′) scored a goal each.
