1. PM Modi Shares his Thoughts on his 116th Edition of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ Programme yesterday.

(a) PM Modi urged youth from families without political background to join politics.

(b) He announced that on the 162nd birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda nextyear, ‘Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue’ will be held in Delhi.

(c) On the occasion of NCC Day, PM Modi noted with satisfaction that the enrolment of girl cadets in NCC has risen to almost 40 percent from 25 percent. He urged the youth to join NCC, the world’s largest uniformed youth organization, in maximum numbers.

(d) PM said, for the first time, the Upanishads have been translated into the Slovak language. Prime Minister said these efforts also underscore the global influence of Indian culture.

(e) PM Modi also touched upon the vanishing sparrows from our cities. Emphasising that sparrows play an important role inmaintaining bio-diversity, he expressed concern that sparrows are hardly visible in cities today due to increasing urbanization. Citing the Chennai based Kudugal Trust for involving school children in its Save Sparrow campaign.

(f) The Food for Thought Foundation has also established many wonderful libraries in Hyderabad. It’s their endeavor as well, to ensure that children get books to read with solid information on as many topics as possible.

(g) PM said that, Thousands of kilometres away from India, a ‘Mini India’ dwells in Guyana too. Around 180 years ago, people from India were taken to Guyana to work in the fields and for other tasks. Today, people of Indian origin in Guyana are leading the country in every field… be it politics, business, education or culture. The President of Guyana, Dr. Irfan Ali, is also of Indian origin and is proud of his Indian heritage.

(h) He said, In Madhya Pradesh under the campaign ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ – more than 12 lakh trees were planted here in 24 hours. On account of this campaign, the barren area of Revati Hills of Indore will now turn into a green zone.

(j) PM lauds Assam woman 32-year-old Ittisha Sarah for transforming Arunachal’s Sangti Valley into a waste-free zone. The valley houses approximately 1,500 members of the Monpa tribe.

2. The winter Session of Parliament will commence on 25th November, 2024 and subject to exigencies of Government Business, the session may conclude on 20th December, 2024. There will be no sitting of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on 26 th November, 2024 to commemorate the “Constitution Day”.

3. Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led INDIA bloc leader Hemant Soren met Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar at Raj Bhawan in Ranchi and staked his claim to form the government. He tenderd his resignation as Chief Minister to the Governor before staking claim. The bloc has secured 56 seats in the 81-member State assembly. On the other hand, the BJP led NDA won 24 seats.

4. BJP leader Chandrashekhar Bawankule said that Maharashtra will not have a Leader of Opposition. This will be the first time in six decades. In the 288 member Legislative assembly, the Mahayuti alliance won 235 seats in the state while the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi secured only 49 seats.

5. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the ICA Global Cooperative Conference at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on Monday. For the first time, in 130 years long history of the International Cooperative Alliance, the Global Cooperative Conference and General Assembly are being organized in India.

6. Government will launch a national campaign Ab Koi Bahana Nahi in New Delhi today. The campaign calls on the public, government, and key stakeholders to take actionable steps to eliminate gender-based violence.

7. The Opposition on Sunday asked the Centre to allow discussions in Parliament on US prosecutors’ bribery charges against the Adani Group even as Union minister Kiren Rijiju made it clear that the matters to be taken up in the two Houses will be decided by their authorised committees with the consent of the respective Chair.

8. ISRO is preparing for significant advancements in its space capabilities with multiple upcoming launches, including the highly anticipated Space Docking Experiment (Spadex), scheduled for December 20, 2024. This mission marks a pivotal moment for India as it aims to demonstrate autonomous docking technology in space, a critical step towards establishing an Indian space station and enhancing satellite operations.

2. The Manipur Government has scrapped its plan to reopen schools and colleges in Imphal Valley and Jiribam district on Monday. Schools and colleges were shut in Imphal West, Imphal East, Thoubal, Bishnupur, Kakching, and Jiribam for about a week due to prohibitory orders issued in view of fresh violence in the state.

1. At the 55th International Film Festival of India, the results of Creative Minds of Tomorrow (CMOT) were announced yesterday.

The film Gullu by Team Green won the Best Film Award, which also got the team a cash reward of 5 lakh rupees. Pushpendra Kumar, from the same film, won the Best Actor Award. Vishakha Naik of the Film titled Loveflix Subscription received the Best Actress Award.

2. Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw watched the movie – The Sabarmati Report in New Delhi on Sunday. The film is based on the burning of a coach of Sabarmati Express train near Godhra station, Gujarat in 2002. He said, the film exposes the lies and misleading facts to unveil the truth that was suppressed for a long time to serve political interests.

1. Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi has concluded a significant five-day visit to Nepal, which aimed at strengthening defence and bilateral ties between India and Nepal. His trip, which began on November 20, 2024, included a series of high-level meetings and cultural engagements.

Aartech Solonics Limited has successfully developed an Adaptive Alternate Power Module (AAPM) for military vehicles, in collaboration with the Indian Army’s Sudarshan Chakra Corps (EME) and IIT Mumbai. This innovative technology aims to enhance the operational efficiency of Armoured Fighting Vehicles (AFVs) and artillery systems, including the K9 Vajra howitzer.
