1. Voting for Assembly Elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand to be held today; Polling to also take place for by-elections in 15 Assembly seats across four states.
2. In Maharashtra, elections for all 288 seats are being held in a single phase. Voting will begin at 7 AM and In Jharkhand, voting will be held for the second and final phase for 38 constituencies in 12 districts. Polling will begin at 7 in the morning and will conclude at 5 pm.
3. By-elections will also be held today for Parliamentary constituency of Nanded in Maharashtra and 15 Assembly seats spread over four states:-Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala and Uttarakhand. Counting of votes for all states will be taken up on Saturday.
4. Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting initiatives that ensure sustainable and profitable agriculture, resilient ecosystems and food security for all. The task force teams of Telangana’s Commissioner of Food Safety conducted inspections in Khammam District on Monday (November 18, 2024) targeting a unit manufacturing and repacking ginger-garlic paste. The operation, carried out at the Magic Ginger Garlic Paste Unit in Ricca Bazar, Khammam Town, led to the seizure of 960 kilograms of ginger garlic paste on suspicion of adulteration.
4. Security personnel during a combing operation in Kabbinale forest area, in Udupi district, Karnataka. Vikram Gowda, a Naxalite, was shot dead by Anti-Naxal Force (ANF) during the operation, official sources said.

1. Army, Navy, Air Force conduct joint exercise in Arunachal Pradesh : The four-day exercise, ‘Poorvi Prahar’, validated the effectiveness of joint structures in intelligence gathering, surveillance, reconnaissance, rapid mobilisation, deployment and operational logistics.
2. Bharat Forge is currently in the final stages of negotiating a significant contract with the Indian Ministry of Defence for the procurement of 307 Advanced Towed Artillery Gun Systems (ATAGS). This contract, valued at over ₹6,000 crore, has Bharat Forge emerging as the lowest bidder.
