Delhi: Delhi Schools Enforce Masks, Cancels Outdoor Events As the air quality remains severe in the Indian capital, Delhi schools have taken proper measures in protecting students. The authorities have asked schools to restrict outdoor activities and to make it mandatory for face masks for students who will come to attend classes in person.
Key Step Taken:
1. Making Face Masks Compulsory: Students will wear N95 face masks as hazardous air cannot be let affect them anymore.
2. Online Classes: Classes for Classes 1 to Class 5 will be totally online. Teachers will log on to the digital platforms and conduct sessions so that lessons do not get disrupted.
3. Outdoor Activities Curtailed: For present, outdoor activities for senior students who will go to physical classes have been banned, especially the early morning sessions.
4. In-door Leisure: Activities such as reading, playing chess or other interesting games of painting to keep the students indoors and away from health hazards.
Air Quality Issues:
Delhi’s air quality recently plummeted into the “severe” category, with an AQI of 411 recorded on Friday morning. Schools now focus on “greenness” activities and are asking parents to add antioxidant-rich diets and some home remedies, like steam inhalation, to fight respiratory issues.
Other steps that the schools have implemented in relation to the matter include keeping windows closed and also reducing the application of chemical irritants, such as strong cleaning agents. The education directorate has communicated that these measures must be accomplished to ensure students’ safety while allowing the continuation of academic activities.
Expert Opinion:
For instance, school principals demanded joint action against pollution and asked families to initiate carpooling and other friendly-to-the-environment practices. They further vowed that the government schools have offered to ensure that the learning process runs uninterrupted while continuing classes online from the campus.
The measures taken so far signify the willingness of the authorities to safeguard young minds from the detrimental effects of polluted air without compromising quality of education.
